Shhh. My common sense is tingling.

War

I followed, hoping to make a difference
I trained, knowing I could be ended
I hoped, feeling I would get through
I breathed, aiming to steady my shot
I fired, killing the man across from me
I jumped, taking cover behind a body
I cried, seeing my friend's death
I steeled, warming myself with resolve
I feared, willing myself to press onward
I cared, aiding my men when I could
I killed, curing the world of one problem
I destroyed, saving the world from destruction

Sadness

Someday,
Once for my sake,
Resting instead of my eternal
Resisting, I will go
Out on my own, to
Where I want

Each day passes,
Never moving me toward
The end of days,
Ending my faults
Recognizing my panic
Stunting my mind

More or less, I can wait,
Yet I only feel worse for it

Helpless and dogged,
Every movement takes more effort
Answers are fleeting,
Reasons are dying,
The end of days has come.

Ballad of the Crow

Listening to the sad sorrow
Our existence brings us
Always looking again to tomorrow
Upon the sadness that kills us

Slathered yet still in full tune
We all realize within ourselves
The options we seek spring up soon
While our souls wait on stores shelves

Helplessly flailing in our skulls
Another form takes full flight
Myself manifests a blackness crow
To deliver me into my sickened blight

War (partwo)

In the hollowed out shell
Of a bomb-blasted building
A child keeps to himself, crying for loss,
His family ripped apart
By the horror he has witnessed
He swoons out of consciousness
Into the awaiting arms of the clanging

I never sleep, I am forever waiting....watching. Silent and still just as intended. You will not find me. You will not win.
