I'm pretty curious as to what everyone's favorite book or book series is.

Mine has to be the Dark Elf series. The writing is superb and you really feel for the characters.

John Ringo and Travis S. Taylor's "Looking Glass" series.

Best damned Sci-Fi I've read in ages... and all the Science is close to reality too.

The second best would also be a John Ringo series. The Legacy of the Aldenata series. Think Starship Troopers (the book not the film) power armour verses a cross between a horse and an alligator who have spaceships and railguns and eat ANYTHING and anyone.

Third favourite would be David Weber's Honor Harrington series or maybe his Prince Roger series.

All these are under the classification of "Military SciFi".

I'm kind of lucky in the fact that because I was disabled while in the military I get a free VIP subscription to webscription.net which has all these books in ebook form. Now I don't have to pay for the ebooks and get to read them up to 6 months before they come out in print (what they call Advanced Readers Copy).

When I was younger, the Darren Shan Saga is good for younger reasons. I just read recently his newest book for a new series of books aimed more for adults.

Gortex and Felix series I really enjoyed, can't remebeer the authors name, something King published by black libary.

And Flashman, only read three of them but they are good.

Same here, Neo. I always found Odysseus more entertaining than the whole Trojan Horse spectacle. The archery contest is what I really enjoy considering Odysseus comes back in total secrecy and slaughters the bastard usurpers.

Tolkien, anything.

Close second for anything by Stephen King/Clive Barker.

I love the Sword of Truth series. It's a fantasy on more realistic terms.

I agree. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was Faith of the Fallen where Goodkind just kept pounding the new society's beliefs...Okay, we get it. Communism. Thank you, Goodkind. Now write about Richard escaping already.
