I remember only wanting to play board games when I was younger (the Star Wars Monopoly I had was awesome). Even when we got an NES I wanted to just play board games. It's a shame that I see them dying out because people don't get together to play them anymore, it's all about online gaming or online networking. Does this mask a deeper issue? Will we lose the ability to interact with new people face-to-face some day because we use the Internet for everything?
Anyway, Sorry is a great game, as are Boggle and Mouse Trap.

That is the funniest thing I've heard today (it's 1:51 A.M.). Here I am talking about how board games used to get people together, then how the Internet is making us less personable, and now it crosses over. Someone stamp 'fail' on my forehead, please.

I agree board games arn't played as much anymore. The last board game I remember playing was risk in a space age idea so the moon was included as thinks to take. It was at a local wargame shop so I played with atleast 2 people I didn't know and we enjoyed outselves.

My favourite board game is Backgammon. I even made a Backgammon table with all the pieces out of wood.

I hate Monopoly with a vengeance. Every single time I play this with family members or if I play it at school with others,an argument always ensues, no one wins, and the game ends prematurely. If people argue with fake money, imagine how people argue with real money. I can scope out a person's full personality just by playing them in a game of monopoly.
An old game I liked to pay in the past is Candyland. Nowadays, I play checkers and chess with some of my family. I do not like the online board games too much, though it does give me some sort of interaction in this seemingly small planet.

I had the PC game of Star Wars Monopoly. Got irritating after a time because you had to wait for the stupid animations to play. The one game I played a lot of in my teens and early 20's was Kingmaker. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingmaker_(board_game). Was really good for strategical play. Edit: LOL.. I found a 1994 PC version of it but it's only VGA graphics.

I have the nintendo version of monopoly. I love it. My GF and I recently bought the game of life as well. Her family is pretty big on Mahjong and they make their own boards (even though you don't need one) and everything. It's pretty cool. Dominoes...they aren't really a board game..but similar concept, thats fun. My family likes playing Cards...

Trouble,Game of life was fun, monopoly's fun only with the right ppl, sorry, clue was also a game that depended on ppl. Chess and checkers anyone?.. I never got to really play mousetrap.. no one wanted to play with me T_T ...i just built the the thing and did it myself.. Not a board game, but Connect Four was fun, so are a lot of card games. I cant think of anymore, that i played.. oh! Snakes and ladders, i loved that thing. When i saw it at a toys r' us Years later, it really almost made me cry. When i was little i loved the game, and then i think it got thrown away.. Ima buy my kids that game =]

I used to play chess a lot and was even the Chairman of the local chess club. My partner at the time was into chess in a big way and I was just a beginner and when she got me in fools mate I decided to learn heh. At least at that point in my life my memory was perfect (I had eidetic memory). The drugs I have to take really messed with it. Then recently I found out that one of my great neices also has eidetic memory too so it's passed on in the family.
I think I saw a chess system for forums somewhere. Would anyone be interested in playing online chess?
I used to have a mail chess buddy in Germany. It's a slow game but gives you more time to decide on what to do. I also used to play speed chess with the clock and oh did I get my ass whupped by my partner. She was a much better player than I was.

Well I've got the software and it's bloody amazing. I'm just running some tests on it and I have to make it match the forum theme but it's gonna be REALLY cool because it's totally drag and drop.

Want a laugh?
The damn software is a bit off with this theme... It displays the pieces but not the board hehe.
I've just got to track down this new bug but it shouldn't take long. It works perfect with the default theme and I know the problem is in the CSS and PHP files.
