i played alot while i was at the beach, like pretty much every night.
went even or better every night. it was fun.

I prefer playing 13 or Pusoy(sp) Dos.
Mostly because more ppl like to play it at school, and no chips are necessary. =P. its fun! lol. And there are a lot of diff "styles" in other words, diff rules depending. You can usually sort out which your using and which your leaving out thou.
Rules tend to go by "Vietnamese,filipino,korean,or mexican rules/ways" as well as gambling rules. =P since between those cultures/ethnicities are the main differences.
Its just like which suites are higher; if you skip a turnyou arent included in the next round, playing 2s, four of a kind beating anything, bombs etc etc

I finished 96th in a 10,000 man tournament on PokerStars once. That was the highlight of my summer last year.

If you do get PS, make sure you use pokerstars.com instead of .net because the .net accounts are very restrictive.

I play cash games every now and then. Sunday, I won $86 off a $9 buy-in (everyone else bought in for $20 and $40). I've won 3 live tournaments - each with about 75 players. I used to play online A LOT on full tilt (the only decent site that supports Mac). I played so much it was sickening. In fact, that's the reason why I bought an Xbox. I had to curve my addiction. Now I'm back to being addicted to video games, which is more cost-friendly.

yeah, i normally do like $1o buy ins, cash out whenever you want, buy in whenever you want.
the guys i play with are pretty laid back. they dont do too much tournament style play.

If you want skill, play a cash game. If you want fame, play a tournament.

You should also look into playing the other poker types like Omaha or Razz. It makes you a better player. Texas hold 'em isn't my personal favorite, just the game I play most because it's widely known. Pot Limit Omaha is my game of choice. Lots of fun.

I love playing poker.  Have a cash game every month, sometimes twice a month.  Fun times, even if I do get shafted.  I'm going to start folding pocket jacks, queens, and aces.  Jacks, flopped a full house and still lost.  Queens, no matter what, I lose with them.  Aces, slow play, I lose to quad 9's when I put the other person all in and they were holding 9, 5.  Play them strong, I still lose.
