If it tries to focus on realistic driving like they did with pro-street, it's a no go for me. When I think of NFS I expect fast street racing in between traffic and arcade style gaming. Thats what made the series fun.

I hate the Burnout series, getting points for causing crashes isn't my idea of a racing game. Atleast NFS focuses 100% on racing, no matter how unrealistic it is. Plus, not sure about newer burnouts, but I prefer games with real production cars.

well, would u rather make up a name for a car and save money, or buy the name for 10,000 bucks?

and i avoid the crash part of it, in burnout paradise you dont have to do it at all, download the demo from live

Money most likely wasn't the issue, with a game like Burnout the chance of getting a license would be difficult. If you have played Grid with it's realistic damage model. Most companies only gave the license if Codemasters only used if they used Sports cars, made sure there was a roll cage in the car, the driver would appear safe at all times, no fires breaking out and nothing in the game that involves smashing the car on purpose. It's not as easy as going up to some company and going, "Okay I will offer this amount of money if you allows us to use your products in our game." The companies will want to know what is going on in these games to make sure their cars arn't show as unrealisticly as possible.

actually,
 Grin

the best in the series was both NFS Underground, and Underground 2.

the stories were pretty well written, and they both offered some of the deepest customization in any street racer ever.

Sorry but...
NO POLICE CHASES IN EITHER OF THOSE.
I really liked that in hot pursuit and in most wanted...

I found most wanted doesn't work on the 360 so don't buy unless you have a PS2 or the original Xbox.

I prefer NFS: Underground 2 which I had on the PS2 in terms of driving. BUt most wanted had a better control setup because it was on xbox though, prefer triggers over the X square buttons being used.

I bought NFS undercover and i only rate it 5 out 10.  The only thing you do in the game in race, there is no drifting, there is no point to driving around in free roam cause theres no where to go and nothing to do.  To do a race you press up on the d-pad and choose one or press down on the d-pad and go to whatever your closet to, you just cant drive to its location and go to it.  Also the customization in this game has been reduced alot from previous titles only leaving you enough options to attempt to make you feel like you can do something with it.  I dont recommend this game and Underground 1 & 2, Most Wanted, Carbon and all the Hot pursuits where better then this one. (only played the demo for Prostreet and didnt seem good enough to try)

OK.. reviews are saying that Undercover is pretty much Most Wanted 2. I loved Most Wanted (and still have a play on my old Xbox every now and then). Carbon was crap in comparison.

Where ProStreet is concerned you either love it or hate it... I kind of liked it but it's not a real NFS title but something between Forza and NFS that didn't quite gel to me.
