OK I swear to god that a whole bunch of games I've played recently have had some glitches or other and so it is with Undercover...

F..ra...me...r...ate...Is...su..es...

At times this game is stuttering like a bitch... You time a turn only for it to stutter and then speed up and get you hammering into the wall. Most Wanted was smooth as silk as was Prostreet but this one is a pain in the ass stuttery in comparison.

*sigh*

They just don't make them as good as they used to.

I remember Need for Speed Road Challenge (High Stakes in US). That was one of the best racing games I've ever played. Sooo much fun!

There was and is nothing as fun as being a cop car, deploying a spike strip in the middle of a 180' turn, and watching a speeding Ferrari lose his wheels and smash into a wall covered in pixelated smoke.

NFS Undercover was designed for HD, i first played it on my standard tv to find the graphics choppy and the frame rate slow.  Once i got my HD tv though it was a whole 'nother story, the graphics were clear as day and seemed to run perfect.  Thats not to say that its still a good game, i would rather go back and play Most Wanted over this one which i have yet to complete the story line on.

I'm playing it on a 43" plasma mate... it stutters like a bitch....

Whenever you turn corners or there are more than 3 cars on the screen at once the framerate drops dismally below the needed 30fps... When I went on google and put in "Need For Speed Undercover Framerate" you should see the number of people out there experiencing the exact same thing.

Put it simply, the a racing game NEEDS a high framerate when you are driving fast. It's ironic that the name "Need For Speed" is part of the title... Even the cut scenes tend to skip a lot.

I'm going to install it to my hard drive to see if it improves at all...

NFS was a series of games that i liked but with their latest two titles being as shitty as they are i think im not goign to waste my money buying any future releases by them until i hear what the other people that have played the game are saying about it.  They should really put some effort into making a good come back with a great game and spend a few years developing something great rather then firing out a game a year hoping to make a quick buck off them.

NFS ProStreet is fun... but it's not really NFS... it's more Forza than NFS.

I still think Most Wanted is the best of the NFS series... Carbon sucked and so does Undercover. If they can fix the framerate issues and twitchy control problems then it could be a good game. I've played EVERY game of NFS back to the originals... I think I still have the NFS Porsche Challenge one floating about somewhere... That game rocked considering it was only Porshce cars.

Well I give up with this game... trying to judge corners when it keeps freezing is a pain in the ass. Trying to dodge police cars when it keeps freezing is a pain in the ass.

In comparison I loaded up Most Wanted and it's miles better than Undercover. It runs smooth as silk and is loads better at handling... How Undercover got past QA with framerate issues like this is beyond me. Hell I did a time trial thing where there wasn't many cars around and it STILL lagged like a SOB.

Another game I am glad I rented before buying. I've just bought Forza 2 Collectors Edition off of ebay so will hopefully have that soon as I know that has good reviews...

forza is going to take some getting used to if you have been playing other racing games for awhile.

Well I wouldn't have been getting this game for the sheer fact I came the closest I've ever come to actually putting a sledge hammer through the game disc and case... (Yes I did get down the stairs with it and have my shoes on ready to get the hammer from the shed when common sense stopped me!  Roll Eyes ROFL)
And all that was just down to the ridiculous way the AI was able to catch me and win so many times after 1 small mistake, then when I finally won that last evade finished me off - cue smoke blasting from my ears!!!

If Forza 2 is anything like the first one then I'll like it... It's a lot more realistic with the handling and you can't do a "tapethethrottledown" method you can use in NFS lol...

My mates used to hate me because I could lap them in Forza...

I am playing the Wii version, and it runs pretty smoothly, no choppiness. The only thing that I hate is some of the levels, mainly the times levels where you have to smash into 3 cars that are on opposite ends of the city.... takes the fun out of actually driving the car.
