I dunno about all them titles; there seems to be too many of them. Since guru and master seem to be the same thing, I would suggest taking out one or the other.

The only odd thing I saw was this:

2201-2400 – Honorary Patriarch of EG
2401-3000 – Legendary Member
3001-3300 – Legendary Guru
3301-3600 – Legendary Poster

You go from 2201 to 2400, then 2401 to 3000, then 3001 to 3300. Fairly large discrepancy there, especially after Legendary Guru it stays constant.

Thank you Eronios. As Neo knows...I was really hammered when I did these last night.

And the reason there are so many is because it will give more variety amongst the members. Instead of having 20 people that have the same title. It will add flavor and maybe even give people some more status to the website.

Once I've finished the major bugs off I'll be adding them... but I'm working down a list of glitches that are still causing problems on the site. Now the performance work is done I have a good foundation to work with.

this may not be able to work at all...

but i'm a member of the circa survive message board, and when you post there, you gain a certain amount of points. you also get points for doing something productive or creative in the board community.

you can cash in these points for various things like CD's, etc.. and you can also purchase a signature member title that you create, and it is displayed above your avatar.

don't know about the CD's part since this isn't a music message board.. but maybe we could do something like that for member titles?

Arrggh...

I was going to do the member titles yesterday... so what happens... frickin home server going kaboom.

After several (and I really mean EIGHT) tries to backup the boot drive I finally manage to do it after several hours repairing duff sectors. I finally get a viable backup sorted.

So now I have a boot disk backup I am trying to move my main archive of programs from the dying hard drive to my 1tb backup drive... It says it's gonna take 2 hours to complete. Ohhhhhhhkay. I set it in motion and turn off monitor and do some reading.

Turn monitor on after 2 hours... it had done about 1/8th of the files and then found a trojan in an old archive file... ARRRGHHHH. Fix the problem and set Avast to handle stuff automatically.

Turn on again after 2 hours. Only a few files transferred and a message "Are you sure you want to move system file xyz". Grrrrrrr.... YES TO ALL. Turn off monitor again and wait.

Turn on again after 2 hours... "Your system has recovered from a serious error". ARRRRGH. Decide to pack in for the night.

Turn monitor on again at 4:30am. Notice the automation driver system is missing. CRAP... fix that and decide to start moving stuff MANUALLY to the hard drive to see what is happening. This means that it's gonna take HOURS to move stuff.

NEVER BUYING ANOTHER SAMSUNG DRIVE... EVER!

Unless I can do the transfer quickly it looks like another day not working on the site, damnit. I HATE MY NEOJINX!

The amount of titles helps to diversify among the members that are here. If there are so little of us then we would see the same titles among each other due to our posts being so close together.
If instead of 3 titles between say 1000-2000 there is only 1, then we would almost all have the same title. Adds some flavor =D.

And your value is counted as long as it isn't a purely blasphemous and arrogant one(but even some of those are valued =DDD)

Plus, plan for the future yo =D.

I agree with this. The first forum I joined only had titles up to 1k(and a custom title at 2500), and once you got to that mark... nothing changed. However, may I suggest a cutom title for 10k posts?

The titles have to be entered into the system and to have a custom title would mean having to hack the forum software to work (which I am not gonna do as it upsets the updates... been there, done that, had to regress the system).

Anyone remember the first version of the site which was laggier than a laggy thing at lagfest time? And the number of errors that thing kicked out after the update... OUCH! At least the only errors kicked out these days are when people forget their passwords lol.
