another idea is that everyone get branded with a tattoo when you join EG, like matching tattoos, but more badass.  That way it's like a gang...of geeks.  How badass does that sound? eh eh

I agree with this. The first forum I joined only had titles up to 1k(and a custom title at 2500), and once you got to that mark... nothing changed. However, may I suggest a cutom title for 10k posts?

The titles have to be entered into the system and to have a custom title would mean having to hack the forum software to work (which I am not gonna do as it upsets the updates... been there, done that, had to regress the system).

Anyone remember the first version of the site which was laggier than a laggy thing at lagfest time? And the number of errors that thing kicked out after the update... OUCH! At least the only errors kicked out these days are when people forget their passwords lol.
