I read so many books it's really hard to choose... but if I had to I would say John Ringo (freakin AWESOME Sci-Fi and military stuff). When I get a JR book I can't put it down until I finish... real page turner author (or button presser if it's an ebook).

If anyone is into military Sci-Fi then read this guy.

My second favourite author used to be David Weber but his books seem to have got wayyyyyyyyyyyy overcomplicated now. If I had to choose now it would be Travis S. Taylor.

Ringo hates sci-fi like Star Trek and Stargate (especially Stargate Atlantis) and decided to write a series like Stargate as it SHOULD have been made... and he does a freakin good job with it too. Seriously, he takes an accident at a physics research lab at a university and ends up on the other side of the galaxy playing a rock concert to kill the enemies... sounds really trashy but OMG it's actually awesome. The Looking Glass series is a mix of Star Trek and Stargate the way it SHOULD have been done...

Read the series starting with Through The Looking Glass (by John Ringo)... http://www.johnringo.com/Books/IntotheLookingGlassSeries/tabid/1841/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Seriously... where else would you have current day Space Marines who wear power armour and use two cut down barratt 50 cals as PISTOLS... ALL HAIL TWO-GUN.

Oh yeah, and you know I rant about games every so often... I'm a babe in arms when it comes to rants... Ringo is the UberMeister of Superbly Thought Out Rants...

http://www.johnringo.com/EssaysandRants/tabid/1596/language/en-US/Default.aspx

Read "It Says WHAT?" on how MSNBC went racist by accident one time... He shows how racism seems to only go one way in todays culture.

We read Animal Farm last year too. I'm working on 1984 right now and reading a few of his essays.

I haven't read anything in the past year except the Harry Potter series (which completely angsted my own writing) and the I Am Legend graphic novel. As soon as my own work is over, I plan on hitting up The Woods Out Back trilogy by my favorite author R.A. Salvatore.

Ha Ha Nice.

The main reason i read tom clancy is that my grandpa has all of his books and lets me borrow them when ever i want. I like his books because of how concocts the story.

I miss his books now... Read them all and there haven't been any new ones in a while.

Actually I just checked and I got it wrong... there IS one book I haven't read... The Teeth of the Tiger. Gonna have to get that...

A lot of people noticed the resemblance of how Jack got made president and the 9/11 attack. In the Clancy book an airliner was flown into Capitol Hill and takes out the existing president and most of the government. Clancy was interviewed live on 9/11 and asked about the resemblance (I watched it live too).

But yeah... his Jack Ryan series books (which include Rainbow and John Clark) and are my favourites... His Power Plays books I'm not that fond of personally and his Net Force books are OK but not the same standard as his Ryan books for some reason.

The greatest book series I've ever read were the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles, they were the shit, The Queen of the Damned movie sucked, only because Anne Rice wasn't working with them, like in Interview with the Vampire(amazing movie/book).  Does anyone read Anne Rice?

Well I read Clancy's Teeth of the Tiger and can't say I was impressed. Seems to be part 1 of a series but he never wrote any more and what is worse is that the story is only half finished... bit like Halo 2's ending... very unsatisfying.

I hate stories that never get finished.
