There's a map pack for Halo 3 coming soon, and after that, there's a singleplayer expansion, but after that? Is there anything more planned? Probably not, as Bungie are saying "goodbye" to the game.


Chatting with IGN, Bungie's Brian Jarrard says:

"Overall though, we are viewing the ODST campaign and the included multiplayer maps as the final exclamation point in our ongoing efforts to extend the Halo 3 experience. We're really grateful to our fans for standing by Halo 3 for so long and continuing to show us such strong support."


Halo 3 was out in September 2007, ODST will be out later this year, that's a two-year run. Chin up. Be happy, remember the good times, prepare for new Halo - from Bungie or otherwise - and move on with your life.

I never really liked it, but gotta agree this was one of the best releases on the Xbox 360. The only game I have seen with over 60,000 players on average for more than a year is Call of Duty 4.
Halo 3 managed 300,000 players for over a whole year! And this game has some really nice features like the stats, filesharing, screenshots, Co-op, the graphics, and most of all, the popularity.
Well, let's only hope they come up with something even better for the future.

Halo 3 was pretty crappy for the campaign (I mean come on, did anyone enjoy that flood smeared ship level). It was too short imho. But the movie making was real fun. The linked stats were great too (up until I changed tag and it lost ALL my stats and pictures and stuff).

It also wasn't as good as Halo 2 for multiplay. That being said I still liked multiplayer Halo 3. It's just that other games drew me to them like COD4 and Bad Company.

But will I still buy Halo products? Hell Yeah!

Halo has always been one of my favorite series, I started off playing Halo 2 Split-screen in my High School computer class. I still remember those days of fighting over controllers and always hearing this one kid say that he could whoop all of us, but would constantly get beat.

If IW does something like what Bungie did with the screen-shots, stats, videos, and so forth, I would for sure buy it.

I can't wait for Halo Wars or ODST!

I cant wait for the DEMO. It got stuck at 41%, I restarted my box, and now its stuck at 53%. I just restarted my box RIGHT NOW, and it's already at 56% somehow.... Wtf


Also Halo 2 was the best imo. I'll BXZ you across the face

Just keep restarting the download if it ever does that, did if to me on the first thing I ever got of the marketplace, which was Shivering Isles, and the only other time was when I was downloading Operation: Anchorage. Wait a minute, something to do with Beth DLC for me.

Although I hated Halo 3 since the moment I played multiplayer, of course I agree that it's one of the most popular titles so far.

And I'm gonna download this large package of a demo and try it out. I'm hoping I don't bash this thing too hard.
