Shhh. My common sense is tingling.

« on: March 18, 2009, 01:35:18 AM »

I saw a choose-your-own adventure game on another forum and decided to make my own. There will be three parts to this. The difficulty will go from easy to very hard as the game progresses. Anyone who survives through the first part gets a badge and if you die you cannot complete this part of the game (although you may try Part 2 and Part 3 when they are available and get the badges for those if you survive them). This is available to everyone except myself, obviously.

The Rules

1.   Don’t make up your own answers (including “I have a minigun” or anything like that), use the provided options. Make sure your answer is clearly stated and add specific details why you chose the option if you want to, but do not give advice to others.
2.   Sometimes different answers will lead to different circumstances, but there will always be at least one answer that keeps you alive. This also means that the story may branch occasionally.
3.   New updates will be made every two days hopefully (If I post the first part on Tuesday, the next should be up on Thursday, and the third on Saturday, etc...), but it all comes down to how many people respond.
4.   I'll keep track of all who have died or survived in the first post (answer before the update or it'll be assumed you couldn't take it and just stood still in the middle of an advancing horde).
5.   If you die, your adventure is over.
6.   You may discuss previous matters after the next options are revealed.
7.   Remember to THINK EACH OPTION OVER CAREFULLY. Even if you choose the most logical choice, that does not mean you will survive as you are up against panicking humans.
8.   No editing your posts to cheat.

Now, on to the game.

You live alone in your two-story home in Racine, Wisconsin (80 miles north of Chicago). It’s May 30th, 2009, and the temperate, but rainy, Spring is slowly fading into the more unbearable heat of Summer. You receive a call from your friend and he tells you that he was almost mugged a few minutes ago on his way back from a movie with his girlfriend but he got away with the only damage being a bite to his hand. You tell him to rinse the bite with water and pour some hydrogen peroxide over it to rid it of bacteria, then to bandage it as best as he can. You spend the rest of the night skipping through the channels, which is mostly filled with reports of record numbers of sick people in the city. You grow bored because it’s been five days since they started reporting on this story and it’s the only thing the local new outlets are covering. You flip to CNN and even they’re reporting the high number of people with the same virus in southeastern Wisconsin. You turn the TV off, shower, and head to your bedroom on the second floor to sleep.

DAY 1

You wake up in the middle of the night to a scream. A slow glance to your clock reveals the red digital characters of “4:06 A.M.” You throw the covers off your body and roll out of bed. A loud, rhythmic banging suddenly starts coming from downstairs. You groggily walk to the window and pull back the curtains. Your eyes adjust to the soft glow of the street lights and you see several people drag a woman out of her car and start assaulting her on the sidewalk in front of your house.

A.) Go help the woman.
B.) Get back in bed and go to sleep.
C.) Go downstairs, check that the front door is locked, then get some kind of a weapon.
D.) Lock your bedroom door and hide.

Well **** it, option A  Grin (with a weapon maybe?)
I'm going to assume a more realistic approach of why would you automatically think they're zombies?

C

If it was that would be what I would do, once I have a weapon in my hand I could then go back upstairs, but what threw me off was  "A loud, rhythmic banging suddenly starts coming from downstairs." I think that means that there is a knock at the door but what if it wasnt.

Dunno how to give a damn.

I guess C then.

I have blunt and sharp weapons I can use to kill zombies with, and if I were to guess those were zombies dragging the woman away, I can't do anything to help her. But since I have a hunting scope, I can go upstairs and see what's going on, or head up to the attic to get a bird's eye view of the neighborhood.

ill note that hehe.

I was also thinkin about the banging. That maybe something was downstairs and going down would have been a bad thing, so I should stay in my room, or that its friends to help so I SHOULD come.

C. Considering Eronios is a zombie freak, that virus could get nasty. You need to make sure you have a gun in case hell starts to reject some people. Plus, you never know if you're next to be kidnapped.

Yeah, like Seenoeyez said, the banging might mean that there's something downstairs.
