Shhh. My common sense is tingling.

« on: April 23, 2009, 04:23:20 PM »

Part 1 Results (Warning: there's a lot of text in the spoiler but it's necessary to read for Part 2):

A.) On foot with Steve: You agree and get out of the car, which Steve locks “just in case someone tries to take it.” Since you are the one who knows where the gun store is, you lead through Edina Park and to 2453 Sheridan Street. Strangely, you see no sign of anybody (or any undead) anywhere. You enter the shop (the windows were already broken) and see how slim the pickings are. You pick up two handguns, a shotgun, and after rooting around in the back of the store, an M1 carbine that you claim as your own. You check a hand book for the types of ammunition needed and grab as much of the types as you can, which is very little overall save for the .30 carbine ammo. The two of you also grab holsters for the pistols and make sure to turn the safeties on before putting the four weapons away. You then travel up the street to a mom-and-pop store, where you are able to grab two cloth shopping bags and stuff them, and the dive bag, full with canned goods, packaged dried fruits, and two 24 packs of bottled water. As you are about to exit the market, you hear someone’s voice.

“Brent, are you there? C’mon man, pick up. We're all really worried about you.”
Steve grabs the walkie-talkie and says, “Hello.”
“Brent? Great to...wait, who is this?”
“Not Brent. I don’t know where he is or if he’s alive.”
“Damn. You’d know if you met him, he has a huge Amish beard.”
“Truly fascinating,” Steve says.
“Well, there’s room here if you can make it. We’re at the Anderson house west of Bristol.”
“Bristol, Wisconsin? Jesus, that’s like asking me to pop a grenade in my mouth and pull the pin.”
ALIVE

B.) Steve drives into Zion: “No, let’s just get in and out quickly, we’ll be quicker than they are,” you say to Steve. He starts the car up again and you direct him to the nearby gun shop on Sheridan Street. He leaves the car idling as you go in and grab what you can: two handguns (with holsters) and a shotgun. As you’re getting the ammo for the weapons, you hear a soft moan and turn around to see several zombies near the car. You fumble with the magazine but manage to load several bullets before you take careful aim at the nearest zombie’s head. As you fire, the sound is so loud that you flinch involuntarily but you killed the zombie. The other undead turn at the sound of the gun and start shambling over toward you. Steve tells you he has them but after a dozen shots, he’s only killed one. He reloads and together the two of you take out the remaining zombies. As you quickly search for more ammunition, you notice and M1 Carbine in the back of the store, along with several boxes of ammunition labeled for it. You toss the gun and ammo into the dive bag and get back in the car. Steve pulls up at a mom-and-pop market just up the street and the two of you load the trunk with as much non-perishable foods and drinks as possible. As you toss a final case of bottled water to Steve, a low static fills the air and you hear someone’s voice from behind the counter.

“Brent? What? No, he hasn’t responded yet...but if he’s still there he can...no, I don’t think...of course he’s still alive!”
Steve grabs the walkie-talkie and asks, “Who is this?”
“Brent? Don’t you remember me?”
“This isn’t Brent,” Steve says.
“Oh...shit, have you seen him?”
“I might’ve killed him, but no, I haven’t seen any other living folk around here besides my friend and myself.”
“Well, damn...”
“Truly terrific conversational skills you have,” Steve remarks.
“Sorry, it’s just...Brent is—was my brother. Is there a bag of food there?”
“We took everything we could but there’s no other bag here.”
“Goddamnit. Could you do us a favor? There’s room here at the Anderson house. We’re west of Bristol. Could you bring all the food you can?”
“Bristol, Wisconsin? Why not just ask me to soak in steak sauce and lie in the street?” Steve says.

You grab the walkie-talkie and look to Steve.
ALIVE

C.) Drive in without Steve: Steve stalks off into nearby Edina Park and you decide it’s better to be in and out as quickly as possible. You pull up to 1st Class Firearms and race inside. Most of the stock has been taken by other people but you still manage to get several handguns and a shotgun into the bag, along with the correction ammo. As you load one of the pistols and strap a proper holster on, a high-pitched squeal emits from out on the street; you look up and see several zombies charging you faster than you imagined they could. You take aim and fire but miss every shot because they’re impossibly fast.
DEAD

D.) Split up: You tell Steve to take the car and get as much food as he can while you grab the dive bag and head to get the guns. He tells you that he’ll pick you up in no more than 10 minutes. You carefully walk through Edina Park and to Sheridan Street. You still haven’t seen any zombies, which you figure to be good since they’d probably scare the hell out of you anyway. You get to the gun store and start tossing every gun you find into the bag along with boxes of ammunition without care if they match or not. You check through the window many minutes later, but Steve and the car are nowhere to be seen. You wonder if you should start walking back to the boat. A few more minutes crawl by and as you decide to get back to the boat, a shadow passes by the window. You look up, expecting Steve but it’s a zombie looking directly at you. You pull a pistol from the bag and start firing, but you only hit its body. The zombie jumps on top of you and kills you.
DEAD

“What should we do?” Steve asks.

If you have the car,
A.) Drive back to the boat.
B.) Drive to Bristol.
C.) Go back and try to search for more guns, then decide where to go.

If you’re on foot,
A.) Run back to the car, drive to the boat.
B.) Run back to the car, drive to Bristol.
C.) Search for a car with keys in it/try to hotwire a car (Steve knows how to hotwire successfully).
D.) Go back and try to search for more guns, then decide what to do.

If I choose A...I have no idea what I'm going to do at the boat.
If I choose C we have already established there are zombies there, and frankly I dont want to see more zombies.

So I choose B. Bristol, here I come.

The original plan was to go back to the boat with the supplies and keep safe on the water but the option before you is to go back to the boat or go to a safe house with more humans who are clearly not infected (otherwise they'd be growling and moaning into the walkie talkie....if they figured out how to use it).

More Humans = More Help but also more people to possible get you killed.

but going back to the boat it is possible that someone has stolen it, or there are now zombies all around it from when you arrived.

So i would have to say Lets go to the boat. If it is gone or what not then lets go to bristol, thats what I would do.

I'm going back to the boat. If we can get off we will will use the water as a huge moat you see and just scout out from the water.

So the choice is A for me.

Change in plans, I'll be updating every Sunday and since we're missing a few answers I'll extend it to next weekend.
