CarA.) Drive to the boat: You turn the walkie off, toss it in the dive bag, and tell Steve you’d rather go back out to the water where you know you’ll be safe instead of risking the trip through a zombie-infested back road. He agrees and the two of you quickly get back in the car. Steve drives back to the marina but it’s crawling with zombies and it would be suicide to try to fight through them. Steve makes the decision to turn around and head out to Bristol and tells you to get Jack on the walkie and tell him you’re going to need specific directions. 15 minutes later the car pulls up to the small town of Bristol, Wisconsin, where the scene clearly reflects the obvious state of the entire Midwest: deserted streets, no lights, stranded cars, destroyed store fronts, and blood everywhere. Jack directs you to the back roads and to the Anderson house, which is surrounded by a thick fence with barbed wire on top. Steve pulls up to the barricaded gate and a man with a semi-auto shotgun appears from behind the gate. The man is fully covered from head to toe in riot gear.
ALIVE
B.) Drive to Bristol: You tell Steve survival depends on numbers and it would probably be best to head out to Bristol immediately, especially since they have food, weapons, and most importantly shelter. You hop in, Steve starts the car, and you’re headed north out of the city (only a few blocks due to the location of the gun shop/market). Steve takes the back roads because he knows how to get out to Bristol thanks to several late-night-drunk-driving-avoiding-the-cops-on-the-back-roads routes. After only two turns, you arrive in Bristol and see newspapers, dead cars, dead bodies and blood littering the streets. There are also a high number of zombies shambling around. A high-pitched scream echoes down the deserted avenue and Steve steps on the accelerator, takes a sharp left and heads down the road.
“They said west of Bristol, right?” he tensely asks.
“Yeah, at the Anderson house,” you answer.
“Where the **** is that?”
You find out a few minutes later as you point out a sign that says “Survivors ahead on the right” and Steve pulls up to a fenced-off farmyard with a long dirt driveway to a large old house. A man, decked in what looks like police riot gear, steps out from behind part of the barricade with a semi-auto shotgun in hand.
ALIVE
C.) Get more guns, then decide: You turn the walkie off and toss it into the bag. After you and Steve argue for a bit, you two eventually decide to go back and try to find more guns and ammo. You get back in the car and U-turn back to the gun shop, and while you’re inside scrounging up the last bits of ammunition you can, a shadow blocks the sun. You look up to see several dozen zombies staring at you from the street. You discreetly get Steve’s attention. He opens fire and the two of you fall back to the back room you found the carbine in. The door lasts for a few hours and instead of becoming one a zombie, you decide to shoot yourself in the head moments before they break down the door.

A.) Back to the car, back to the boat: You turn the walkie off, toss it in the dive bag, and tell Steve you’d rather go back out to the water where you know you’ll be safe instead of risking the trip through a zombie-infested back road trip. He agrees and the two of you quickly, but quietly, run off through Zion’s back streets and dodge all the zombies you can. You get back to the car and Steve backs the car up, does a Y-turn, and drives back to the marina. However, it’s crawling with zombies and it would be suicide to try to fight through them. Steve pulls up to the barricaded gate and a man with a semi-auto shotgun and what appears to be full riot gear pops up from behind the gate with a walkie-talkie in hand.
ALIVE
B.) Back to the car, go to Bristol: You turn the walkie-talkie off, toss it in the bag, and say it’ll be safer for the two of you if you’re around more uninfected humans who have been surviving for the past two weeks. Steve reluctantly agrees and you stick to the alleys between the city outskirts until you see Edina Park again. You stick to the trees as much as possible before you reach the railroad tracks, which you know will take you right back to the car and once there, you both get in and Steve makes a wide circuit around Zion using the back roads. Steve tells you it would be safer to just avoid Bristol entirely and use an old highway to get out to the west of the small town. You point out a sign that indicates the Anderson house is just further down the road. Steve pulls up to a fenced-off farmyard with a long dirt driveway to a large old house. A man steps out from behind part of the barricade with a semi-auto shotgun and riot gear on.

DEAD
The man signals to Steve to drive down the long, dusty road, and he complies. You look out the window at the relatively untouched farm: there are some cows loitering around one of the barns and what looks to be a full chicken coop. The house itself is huge, easily five or six bedrooms, three floors and a big basement probably, and a wide porch that wraps around the entire first floor. Every inch of the house and outlying buildings is boarded up or protected by barbed wire. A second man directs the car to the side of the house. Steve parks the car and the two of you get out and are greeted by Jack, a middle-aged guy with medium/short brown hair, the beginnings of a beard, and a tattoo of a snake winding through a few thorned roses on his neck above his left shoulder.
“Welcome, guys,” Jack greets the two of you and shakes your hands.
You’re brought inside and introduced to the other people:
Frank, a short, fat, old white man who looks jittery, is an accountant.
Drew, an average-build black man who looks at you suspiciously, is a cop.
Sabrina, Jack’s wife, a rather tall, tattooed white female who appears to be taking the apocalypse well, is a tattoo artist.
Jack also tells you about Drew’s brother Jackson, the gate guard, is a SWAT officer and both of them know how to set up barricades, which is why the entire perimeter is so well protected.
“Have you found any other survivors?” you ask Jack.
“No. We sent two guys out for food and water but they never came back. We were down to the cows and chickens before you showed up. We converted one of the barns to collect rainwater but there hasn’t been much rain since this all started.”
A few minutes later the car is fully unloaded, enough food for weeks stuffs the shelves and fridge. The house’s water supply is an old well that they used until they learned how the infection spread so efficiently. Steve and Jack start on a rationing list while Drew shows you the bedroom you’ll share with Steve. It’s located on the southeast corner of the second floor right at the top of the stairs and facing the driveway. He tells you that the guns you brought with will be put into the armory, which he identifies as the room straight down the hallway.
“Do you know how to use a gun?” Drew asks.
“I can hit what I’m aiming at,” you say.
“Good. Remember to only aim at what you intend to destroy. No shenanigans with any of the firearms.”
Drew walks downstairs as you look out the window at the untouched farmyard. Dark clouds start drowning out the sun and you hear a distant crack of thunder. Within minutes, the heavens burst and water begins pouring from above, soaking the surrounding area. You see Jackson jogging to the house. Footsteps echo up the stairs and you turn to see Sabrina telling you breakfast is ready.
That night you lie awake in bed, listening to the rain patter on the window next to your head. After seeing the utter destruction the world has crumbled into you find it difficult to sleep; you’ve been trying to nod off for the past three hours but you can’t. A shout sounds from somewhere downstairs and you recognize it as Steve’s. He was asked to watch the perimeter while everyone else slept and it appears to have paid off as you roll over and look out the window: dozens of zombies are shuffling over to the house. You jump out of bed and yell as loud as you can before running down the hallway to the armory. You grab the M1 Carbine and check the two magazines to ensure they’re fully loaded, which they are, before running back to your bedroom. You open the window and take careful aim. You drop six or seven of the bastards before having to reload, which was easy as you had an extra ready to go. Eight more headshots drop eight more zombies. A quick glance over your shoulder reveals that Drew and Jackson are heading down the stairs in their riot gear, including shields and their semi-auto shotguns. You run to the doorway and look down the hallway to the armory and down the stairs to where Drew and Jackson are going.
Do youA.) Follow Drew and Jackson downstairs to defend in hand to hand combat.
B.) Go back to the armory, reload both magazines, and head back to the window to shoot more zombies.
C.) Go to the armory and get a bigger gun. Head downstairs.
