ethicalGamer - Survival: Week 2 Finale.

Results:

A.) Headlights: You turn right and press the accelerator as hard as you can but you can’t catch up to the speeding truck. On Jackson’s advice, you flash your headlights repeatedly at the truck until you see the vehicle come to a halt. You pull up and Jackson rolls down the window.

“What’s wrong?” Jack yells over the dull roar of the two engines.
“You missed the turn. If we keep going straight, we’re going to hit Burlington and be in a world of shit so we have to turn around,” Jackson shouts back.

A scream erupts from the truck: Sabrina. Jack turns back to her and then disappears in a storm of shouting and swearing. You and Jackson wonder what’s going on until you see a spray of blood come out of the driver side window and Jack trying desperately to remove his seatbelt. A grotesque hand grabs Jack by the face and pulls him back out of sight. More blood shoots out of the window.

“Floor it!”

The pedal meets the floor but it might already be too late. Several hundred zombies rush out of the woods and envelop the car in a sea of death. Jackson rolls the window up in the nick of time but it’s only seconds before the undead break the windows and destroy you.
DEAD

B.) Follow: “Goddamnit! That way takes another nine or ten miles and goes through Burlington! Follow them, they’ll need the help once we get in the town.”

You turn right and go as fast as possible to try to catch up but the truck only gets slightly larger by the time it stops at a stop sign. Jackson tells you to pull up alongside so they can regroup and get to safety.

“Hey, where do we go from here?” Jack asks loudly.
“Left and then it’s either the second or third left, I’m not 100% sure which one,” Jackson answers back.
“Alright, why don’t you guys lead then?”

Jackson nods to you and you turn left. You were so worried about catching up to the pickup that your mind blocked the buildings of Burlington but now that they register in your brain, you realize what a mistake it was to follow Jack: several dozen zombies are shambling around within a hundred feet of your car and you pray that they can’t run because otherwise...nevermind.

You hit 20 miles per hour just as you realize these zombies can sprint. And they’re running straight at you from ahead. Your car hits the first zombie and you hear a sickening crack as the legs flop out weirdly behind it as it flies into your now cracked windshield. You can’t see where you’re going but you must be on the road because you keep driving straight into zombies until you hit something that doesn’t budge. Your head hits the steering wheel and the world breaks out in every color of the rainbow until darkness swallows everything up.
DEAD

C.) Straight: “Goddamnit! That way takes another nine or ten miles and goes through Burlington! No, don’t follow. They’ll have to hope for a miracle to make it there now.”

You drive straight and wonder nervously about the fate of Jack and Sabrina. Jackson seems more inclined to voice his concern but his words are mostly under his breath and you can only make out some of what he says. A sign up ahead indicates that Bohners Lake is at the next right so you slow down and make the correct turn. The sight of a full-on battle between living soldiers and undead maniacs greets you but it looks like the military is holding out, if not outright winning, and you and Jackson let out audible sighs of sheer relief. You drive past piles of corpses placed on the right side of the road as impromptu barricades before being directed to turn left onto a clearing full of what looks to be troop transport helicopters. Jackson opens the door right before you turn the car off and runs to one of the choppers, where you join him seconds later. The inside is filled with about a dozen other survivors, none of whom are bitten or appear to be sick at all.

“Where there any other people with you two?” a soldier asks you and Jackson.
“No,” Jackson says.
“Alright. Helo Team 2, we are loaded and ready for evac,” the soldier says into the microphone attached to his helmet.

You agree with Jackson's answer: the other two are as good as dead anyway and even if they make it here unharmed, there are plenty of other choppers to get them to safety. The helicopter slowly rumbles to life and the ramp closes after you see the world disappear into a cloudless blue sky.
