So the way I look at it we are going to have to do a private match and then invite everyone in. Has anyone done a private match yet?

I think I've been invited to a few but never go to them. Other then that no, I don't have 15 people on my friends list playing anyway.

I think we will have to meet up on Messenger beforehand or something. I dunno about the size of the squads you see. Also how do you say "COMP BEGINS NOW" other than setting it up via Live messenger service. Will be fun trying to organise lol.

Not even sure how to go about this now... If Euros play on a US server the game is shit (just ask Guyyug about how laggy the game was tonight) and probably vice versa.

At the moment I think it's just gonna be posting a picture of the highest number of kills you have got in a single round. Dunno how else to do it and be fair to everyone. Then on top of everything else it seems people are getting bored of the game so now are out in force to try and ruin it for other people. Way to go douchebags! I was really looking forward to having a game after working most of the day and instead of relaxation it's gits screaming and singing on the comms (and way to go DICE for not showing who is actually doing the singing so I can just mute them) or idiots just out to ruin it for others by nerfing their own team.

Sometimes I wonder why I have XBL Gold when these wankers spoil the game for other people and think they are funny. I just wish I had their home addresses so I could go around and have a word with their parents or if they are over 18 introduce them to a baseball bat to the balls and see if they think THAT is funny.

Errrr....

I found out what was causing the lag!!! The new bloody NAS I installed today with its Bittorrent client. I forgot all about that lol. It was stealing all my upload bandwidth. I made sure eMule wasn't uploading but not the Torrent (not used torrent before today).

I was taking two steps for forward then one step back and even shot myself in the back the one time... That was when I disconnected in disgust. I mean, how the hell can you shoot yourself in the back with a bloody Garand?... but I did! I should have realised it was something I did today as the lag was non-existant before tonight. There was one funny bit where I was seeing two of every plane... where it was and where it lagged from. One grenade I pulled the trigger and nothing happened, I ran forward a few feet and then it fired. Total LAG city.

Oh well, you live and learn. Bittorrent will now be disconnected before play lol.

OK, I've been thinking of ways to do this competition... Should we do Air Superiority or just normal conquest and take the top scorers. If there are two or more with the same top score they have another match just between them but including everyone else to balance out the teams (namely only the top scorers from the previous match will be counted).

What do you think?

I played some of it today and I had better scores flying Zero's than the American fighter. I just couldn't get a kill in the american one.

i think air superiority is well suited to put on a competition like this, though i'm not as good at flying than i am with a rifle..

but, i don't know..

we could do two different kinds of contests..

one for each gametype.

How about this idea that would make it possible for 360 and PS3 players to enter.

Give the entrants 1 week or so to get the highest score they can... once the match ends take a picture and post it in the competition thread. That way we wouldn't have the problem of lag between US, UK and Australian entries affecting the player. All you need to do is take the picture of your highest score. The scores could then be compared to other players and help to push them to do better?

I'm thinking of not just limiting it to Air Superiority either... Maybe have a prize of 3 months for the top conquest scorer and a 1 month freebie for the Air Superiority winner (If anyone has a freebie from one of their games and would be prepared to donate them it would be great... I think I have one but will have to dig it out).

If we do it this way it would at least let everyone enter the same competition. The photo should be of the entire screen to show the scoreboard and any photoshopped images will lead to players being banned from eG as being unethical. Just use a phone camera for example. Sounds fairer to me as this way you can play on 360 or PS3 and on your own local server which would mean zero lag. Say start the competition at 19:43 GMT on Sunday and finish it at 19:43 on the following Sunday?
