I'm one Sexy PillowFight away from enlightenment..

« on: October 03, 2009, 03:59:12 AM »

Ok, I'm sure I'm not alone in the fact that while playing Fallout 3, I became a bit obsessive compulsive about getting rare objects and such. I finally got around to finishing Mothership Zeta, so I thought I'd list some of the rare weapons and armor that I'll never actually use in the game, and other stuff.

I've got 30 garden gnomes around the bottom floor of my Megaton house. When you walk in, they're all looking at you.

If anyone else uses the Chinese Stealth Suit from Operation Anchorage (i know Neo does), I found out that while wearing it you can wear as many hats as you can find, as long as they're all different kinds-- in other words, you can't wear two police hats but you can wear a police hat and a shady hat. I know it's really ridiculous, but these are the ones I wear all the time:
Buttons Wig, Confederate hat, Enclave Officer hat, Eulogy Jones' hat, Head Wrap, Outcast Power Helmet, Police hat, Popular's Hood, Pre-war baseball cap, Pre-war Bonnet, Pre-war hat, Raider Psycho-Tic Helmet, Recon Armor Helmet, Red's Bandana, Roving Trader hat, Samurai Helmet, Shady hat, Sheriff's hat, Stormchaser hat, The Antoagonizer's Helmet, The Mechanist's Helmet, Vault 101 Security Helmet, and the Winterized T-51b Power Helmet.
The crazy thing isn't just the DR that gives, but many of them have +1's or more on Charisma and such. I have +8 on Perception just from the freakin hats!

Ok, here's all the rare weapons and armor I've got in my fridge:
Drone Cannon Ex-B
Atomic Pulveriser
Backwater Rifle
Blackhawk
Board of Education
Captain's Sidearm
Col. Autumn's Laser Pistol
Fertilizer Shovel
Highwayman's Friend
Jingwei's Shocksword
Lincoln's Repeater
MPLX Novasurge
Occam's Razor
Ol' Painless
Paulson's Revolver
Perforator
Ritual Knife
Samurai's Sword
Slo-Burn Flamer
Smuggler's End
Steel Saw
The Dismemberer
The Mauler
Trench Knife
Tri-beam Laser Rifle
Wazer Wifle
Wild Bill's Sidearm
Armor
Ashur's Power Armor
Colonel Autum's Uniform
Eulogy Jones' Suit
Grifter's Fit
Lesko's Lab Coat
Linden's Outcast Power Armor
Paulson's Outfit
Pint Sized Slasher Mask
Red's Jumpsuit
Samurai Armor
Tenpenny's Suit
The AntAgonizer's Costume
The Mechanist's Costume
Winterized Medic Armor
Winterized T-51b Power Armor

The insane thing is that I collected all the regular stuff too.. at least as much as I could keep anyway. So yea, if only a real refridgerator could hold this much crap!

LOL, I'm a man obsessed. The strange thing is I despise collecting missions in other games like GTA. Go figure...

I've got most of the unquie weapons on one of my characters, they are spread out through out my megaton home. The reservist rifle is on a shelf, the unique chinese pistol on the desk next to the bed. Perforator is leaning against another shelf etc. Ol' painless, Xaunlong Assualt rifle, and the guys pistol on MSZ.

Have you got the winterized unpowered armour that you used in the simulator? There is a way to get stuff out of the sim you see (unfortunately if you didn't do the glitch you can't go back which is a bit of a pain).

I managed to get a bunch of weapons and armour with huge hitpoints.

There was one thing that I didn't like about the power armour though... it should give WAY more protection than it does. Basically normal guns should do squat and only anti-tank and high energy plasma should only be the ones to damage it.

My favourite armour was the Medic's Prototype power armour... It even warns you when enemies are near. But because it's pretty weak in comparison to other armour I never used it much... I tended to use stealth over power.

In fallout 1 and 2, not wearing power armour later on in the game was suicide, mainly because in fallout 1 all supermutants were armed with plasma rifles, rocket launchers, flamethrowers, miniguns (Which kick arse in FO1), and gattling lasers. Power Armour was excellent, and that power armour is the T-51b which you get from O:A and in fort constantine.

The medic power armour injecs med-x into when low on health, and I don't think you can get addicted through this way.

I didn't glitch the simulator and get any of the weapons and armor... I did end up keeping some holo requisition thingies... the ones you have to give in the military camp to change your loadouts? I kept one somehow... ghost in the machine.. Tongue

*EDIT*

I didn't wanna double post, but have any of you that's played all the DLC's noticed any other new sidequests? Maybe I just missed this one in the game, but there's a Snake Oil salesman in the Ghoul Underground (Museum of History) selling Aqua-Pura 'that heals ghouls'. There's a new quest associated with it.... so have you guys seen this one already or is it really a NEW sidequest..?

I knew about the glitch with the stealth armor for a while. I equipped a hockey mask and some kind of hat (forgot what it was), then glitched something fierce with those same items until I obtained +100 melee. I shanked a lot of people with Butch's toothpick.

I sorta have this same problem. I just have a thing where I pick up almost everything. I used to get overencumbered all the time, but now since I got my own living space I just pack it full of junk.

I have no idea how many lawn mower blades and pre war books.  ROFL

Packs of cigges and pre-war money have the best weight to cost ratio, so pick those up. Though if you like picking stuff up, use the rock-it launcher, it fires most misc items. Tongue

Im still saving for the schematics for the Rock-It launcher.
I had no idea that pre war money was worth anything. I guess I wasnt paying attention. Why would it be worth anything though?
