Just noticed this on Major Nelson's blog.

Well it seems that like IW and Treyarch share a product name that there are two teams for NFS too. One deals with the street racer type (ie for NFS:Undercover) and the circuit racer (NFS:ProStreet and NFS:Shift).

Undercover was dismal to me... poor framerates ruined that game for me. Shift on the other hands is a LOT better. The good thing I have noticed about this game is that the AI cars actually behave properly and not like they are on rails. In previous games if you tried to knock them off the track it was you that ended up getting trashed. In Shift however you really CAN cause the other cars to spin off and it behaves a lot more like what you would think the cars should.

It's definately easier to drive a car in Shift than in Forza 3 so if you are a casual racer I would suggest NFS:Shift over Forza 3 (it's just a load easier to drive). If on the other hand you really are a car nut then I would suggest Forza 3 as it has WAY more potential with over 400 cars included at launch.
