I'd have to say that Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware is the best damn program on the 'net for malware.

Nope... Microsoft software IS malware... Wink

Avast Virus killer
ATF-Cleaner (all temp file cleaner)
Ad-aware
Spybot search and destroy
Spamfighter (best spam killer I've found)

Oh and stay clear of Norton stuff. Used to be king in the days of DOS but today is bloatware.

My friend told me about how he uses it but it couldn't get rid of a really nasty infection his PC had. MBAM did fix it, though.

You mean the ones where you can't access your Task Manager, your Command Prompt, edit your registry, or install or run a program designed to fix the problem?

Yeah, the solution for one of those is to reformat, which a different friend of mine recently encountered. Everything was also disabled in Safe Mode, too, so she had no way of fixing it. Luckily, her brother got someone to check it out, struggle with it for about three hours, and then reformat it.

If you already have a program installed, you rename the executable and run the program. If that still doesn't work, nothing Microsoft produces will fix it...unless it's an install disc and not just a backup or upgrade disc.

But currently reformat and reinstall is the only way to cure HIV/AIDS too (as in erase current body and do a reincarnation).
