I have a strange router problem that's bugging the crap out of me....
Here's the scenario, I own two routers (a zoom x6 that's been in use for a year or two and an older Netgear DG834Gv2) - I only got the zoom because my connection kept dropping out due to poor line noise which caused the netgear to go into a db figure in the millions

, hence the sync light stayed green, the ip company saw me as still connected but I had zero sync speeds and no ip address or connectivity until I rebooted manually.
Unfortunately the zoom hasn't fixed that problem, instead it just sets an ip address of all zeros and sits there till kicked....
Due to me wanting all my devices to have fixed addresses I was setting the details manually in each device (I've now found out how to do it in the zoom x6) but the wii kept losing the connection so I thought I'd try the netgear again.
All worked great, setup DHCP addresses for everything based on mac's, all required ports forwarded to the respective machines (both routers have identical settings for everything so I can swap between easily).
Here's the kicker - using RDP to control the desktop (wired) via the laptop (wireless) on the netgear just craps out, loses connection (the rdp side, not the network) and generally hangs up yet my i-pod touch connects flawlessly!
When done via the cable it's fine and with the zoom x6 it's fine too....
So, WFT is going on with the netgear?????!!!! (Everything else works fine wirelessly)
Both routers have the latest firmware and the wireless drivers are also up to date, including windows updates and security.
Also, both PC's run zonealarm pro and it makes no difference if that is disabled or not.
