I used to get high all the time and never touched drugs when I was in my 20's...

... then I jumped out the plane to get low while simultaneously getting high on endorphines.

Actually, endorphines have given me a much better high than morphine/co-proxamol/whatever ever has. Maybe my fear of heights boosted that but every time I hit the ground I wanted to go back up... was my worst addiction ever (especially how much cash I spent on it). I suppose it can also be more dangerous thant doing drugs but if you live through the jump it doesn't affect your later life like crack cocaine can.

Yeah Adrenaline from doing fun crazy shit is better then any drug in the world and its free, nothing can beat that.  Also on the crack part that shit can **** up your life but if your smart it can also help straighten your life out as it has done with some of my friends.  They got into it and werent doing it hardcore but enough that people started to refer to them as crackheads and i even called a good friend of mine that once which pissed him the **** off, he later realized what he was doing and got his life together.  The closet i ever came to smoking crack was at a friends house they were cooking some up and smoking it i was there ans they handed me the pipe with some in it telling me to do it, i was unsure and took it.  I put it up to my mouth held the lighter above it and lit it and just looked at the lighter for about 10 seconds then let  it go out and handed the lighter and pipe back to my friends and told them i cant smoke that shit.  To this day i proud of saying no to that.

I think the highest on endorphines/adrenaline was the time I jumped, freefalled and then pulled the ripcord (was a student rig).

Apparently my reserve drill was done so fast and perfect that I got good marks for it. One second I realise that I hadn't got my chute opening and then I flipped over, pulled the rip on my belly pack, grabbed hold of the canopy and chucked it (yeah, that's what you are supposed to do. The adrenaline had supercharged my perception of time... was like nothing on earth. I don't even remember what I did with both of the ripcords either (which pissed me off because I had to pay for 2 new ones).

Apparently the guy who packed my main chute had left the temporary packing pin in (which holds the spring down in the drogue chute while you feed the real rip cord pin through) which meant that the main ripcord was useless. Dunno what happened to the guy who inspects the chute packers but I hope they ripped him a new one... GOD was I scared until that reserve deployed lol. Oh and on top of that I was nearly in the shit too... LITERALLY. I think I landed about 10ft from a sewage farm (you couldn't steer the reserve chutes).

Edit: Damn! The two centres where I did most of my Skydiving no longer exist. Shobdon in Herefordshire (where I did my first jump) and Halfpenny Green (where I did most of my jumps) closed. My Jump Log had the Shobdon logo on it... never knew that the club was run by the 22nd SAS (mind you, thinking about it, the main instuctor did remind me of my Basic Training DI lol... Good old Mac)

Anyway with weed I don't know. I think I could get into it, I mean during my brief time at uni I enjoyed taking the night off working and smoking with some of the guys I lived with. Never could handle it well though.

Though due to some family shit if my parents found out it would ruin the bond with them so it's not worh it no matter who good it feels. Definately kicks the crap out of alcohol though.

LOL... Sean... that's a scary shot.

Mind you where I grew up next to a big forested area called Cannock Chase there was this road at Shoal Hill. Now think of that road in your picture with lots of trees and hedges along the side and half way down there is a road that goes across it.

Now picture me at the top of the hill coming down on one of these....


This is the EXACT bike I had, including huge rear mudflap, lights and mirror... even the colour is identical. Only thing missing is the lollipop sticks into the rear spokes to make that authentic "engine" sound of the day lol...

Now I had riddlen down that hill loads of times on the way home from the Chase and knew I had to pretty much keep the brakes on most of the way down or the back wheel would judder and the front wheel would wobble like mad. About quarter of the way down though, my marvelously maintained bike (err.. make that no maintenance) had a brake cable to the rear brakes snap... So then it was just hold on and try and make it to the bottom. By the time I got the the crossroads half way down I was a screaming (literally as well) fast blur... Just as I was coming up to it I see a car drive across and just missed the back end...

Now this cross road flattened the steep down road so when I came off that road to begin the second part of the drop it meant I did a bit of a jump (which isn't so bad on a normal bike but scary on a Chopper I could tell you). At this point I think I was really crapping myself but I made it... and down I continued at high speed. Luckily the bottom section of the road was hardly used at the time so no more cars to worry about.

At the bottom of the road it curved to the left but I was going WAYYYYYYYY too fast... Hit the kerb (with that tiny wheel) and got catapulted into a thick hedge heh. ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH...  I got out of it with a few bruises and scratches but none the worse for wear. Even the bike wasn't badly damaged... just the brake line and the front wheel needed realigning with the handlebars.

God, that was some scary shit though.

That would be awesome but i would do it on a bike, the really tricky part of that hill looks like the fence at the bottom which seems to be blocking the way to the dock.  Thats just a minor detail though, lol.

That slope reminds me of Christmas of 2001, and I had gotten a bike. I was living in a hilly area of Georgia (US), and the cul-de-sac had a slope on either side (nothing like the picture), and I was living atop it. I had only knee and shoulder pads as protection, and many children were outside playing in the ice and whatever snow happened to drop. I hopped on my new bike and went outside as my family watched in horror of what was about to happen. I rode my bike down the sloped road no problem, until I hit an ice patch and lost control at full speed, sending me flying and crashing on the road, giving me some minor road rash. A bunch of people were watching me, so I got up and said "Ta-da!" as if I meant to  crash and skid. My bike and I got scratched up pretty bad, but at least my elbows and knees were alright. I grabbed my bike and walked home, more embarrassed than hurt.

It's weird how my story seems similar to Neo's, but without the trees and safety bush.

The bit I missed out of my story is a horse... When I opened my eyes this horse was looking at me over another hedge and was probably thinking either "Stupid Human" or "Why did he do a peculiar thing like that?".

My money is on "Stupid Human" lol.

Oh and Red... when I did this there weren't anything like pads and helmets for bike riding... this was the stone age 70's remember (and yeah, loads of people were still stoned from the 60's lol).

Ha yeah. I'm gonna visit San Francisco, which is like 3-4 hours away from me.. Some amazing hills, and skate spots.
