Music Filesharing is scary these days... Some ISPs are threatening to disconnect persistant file sharers. That's one reason I discourage any of my friends from sharing music. I downloaded stuff in the past and have downloaded stuff here before the title was released but only while I have got the CD itself on pre-order. That way I can prove that I purchased the music anyway.

So why don't I go buy stuff from online music stores I hear you say... Well mainly because I don't like the crappy DRM. I lost a couple of ebooks because the DRM screwed up. I refuse to buy anything with DRM attached to it. It doesn't stop pirates... it just causes problems to people who buy the damned things legally.

Yeah I think Virgins are slowing down my net everytime I download huge files/folders like music and movies and stuff. Gonna have to stop lol.

If you download too much at peak time they slow you down. It's called Traffic Shaping (other words speed nerfing).

Oh hell yeah dude.

My buddy is a member but he never gets invites as he is kind of a low member and does contribute much. But he does enough to stay in. Anyways....his download speeds are ubelievable, downloading gigs in a matter minutes. The reason is because to be a member and stay in this private community, you have to seed enough to allow you to stay on, which in turn leaves you wide open. Except for the fact, that Demonoid.com is EXTREMELY protective of who they let in. 2 of my friends are banned because they didnt seed enough, and their comps werent safe enough as they were letting many viruses through.

The threshold duration is 5hours and I haven't downloaded anything big during the threshold times... I only download at night, and I'm at 25% speed right now.
This ISP fails anyway.

I might up to the 50mb just to avoid the damned traffic shaping. Each TV episode (HD) is 1.09gb you see. Considering 1.5gb is the limit in the evening it is probably why I get lag at times (ie I'm getting shaped). I never noticed that the evening one was only 1.5gb... I thought it was 15gb (the daytime one is 30gb).

Considering they say "Unlimited downloads" on their adverts it's a pretty hefty limit. 75% of your speed just... goes down the plughole.
