Ok, I love the Insanity mode, but I have a problem. Gamestop is taking trade-ins and adding +50% right now until early march. They say that Mass Effect 2 is trading well, around 35$, so that plus the 10% of my Gamer's Edge card makes Mass Effect tought for me to keep. Plus, Insanity is crazy hard, and I'm losing patience with many fights taking waaay long. Thoughts?

I'm really getting into Insanity mode... BUT for those dumbass idiot squadmates and the silly cover system that kicks in at all the wrong times and doesn't kick in when you want it.

Here is an example of what just happened to me...

  • EX1: I'm playing an Adept who got caught out of position... I run back to a pillar but as I am running the stupid system is looking for ANY wall to stick to... so I get near the pillar AND THE ****ING GIT STICKS TO THE SIDE OF THE PILLAR FACING INTO THE CORRIDOR... The time taken to unstick and then turn back to the right area was too long and I died.

I really do wish there was a cover button rather than have it automatically happen... same with a crouch button... For combat games you really need a crouch button and not have to rely on a dodgy cover system that doesn't do what you want. Here is another example...

  • EX2: You are down behind a barrier when and explosion knocks you to your feet (shouldn't that be the other way around too lol) and you are exposed. You frantically click the sequence to get yourself back behind the barrier but they dumbass system thinks "Ahh... he wants to get over it" and vaults you over right into the middle of the enemy fire. Bang! Dead again.

Ugh, man I been there. This difficulty also really shows how stupid your squad AI is... I spend every fight manually positioning my squadmates several times over, simply because they constantly run straight into fire and into several enemies at once.

I got all my chars except Samara then got thrown on the Collector ship... Now I can't even make my way off the platforms because my dumbass squadmates keep dying on me and the game keeps glitching on me too. Whoever thought using "Forward + A" for cover and "Forward + A" to jump out over the top of the cover and into the open is a good design needs to get a contract taken out on them.... maybe I should ask Krios if he will help lol.

But seriously though, I hate losing to bloody glitches. If I lose to bad skill then it's one thing... if it's losing to crappy coding then it's another... ME2 Insanity... crappy coding.

I even worked out what I needed to do on my own... Distract the Scions with drones and stop Harbinger with the Singularity. Done that... but then even then I have the drone appearing in weird places (ie 6 foot to the side of the target and then dropped off the side of the platform), Singularity gets stuck about 2 foot from you on nothing, I die even when nothing is hitting my shield (and the shield is at 100%), I jump over barriers when I mean to take cover behind them, I get killed when I am crouching behind cover, I fail to regain health even when taking cover behind a barrier... not for AGES..., I get stuck looking 90 degrees to where I am aiming (that was a crap one... nearly got killed by the Thresher Maul because of that pos bug)...  the list goes on. And the squad Artificial Idiots need to get a brain. WHY STAND UP WHEN YOU HAVE NO ****ING SHIELDS... Can't be a hard bit of coding that... But nooooooo... Tali joins Moronda in the dumbass move stakes.

Well blow me if one of the peeps on the Bioware boards didn't give me some good advice... He said to use the Geth Assault Rifle. I had forgotten that I picked that up... Decided to have one more try and I did it... just made it off the Collector Vessel and saved and turned everything off... I now have a huge migraine on the way... I hate it when that happens.

Ashley or Kaiden depending on gender. Liara for both.

Word, go alien. And yea, I'm sticking with it. It's starting to get a bit easier.. BTW, you don't continue to accrue points after you reach level 30 right? Ugh, that would've been handy...

Actually if you go with Liara for ME1 it actually gives you more of the story of what happened between ME1 and ME2 and how you came to be in Cerberus hands...

Turns out that Liara couldn't live without you and did everything in her power to get you back... including giving you to Cerberus because of their Lazarus program. This was my fourth run through and the first I had heard about it... came as a bit of a shock when she said it.

But omg Kronic... lol... Talk about a bit of a downer...

In ME2 you can only do Tali if you are male too it seems. Hey, who else thinks that Quarians are going to look similar to cats or maybe beavers? Pointed muzzle that is for sure... just look at the shape of their masks.

From what I've read on forums, quarians look similiar to humans with their faces.

I just unlocked Insanity (which i thought i was playing it on at first?) and gotta run through it again so i can get that achievement by talking to ashley then i guess, so much time wasted learning and relearning all that crap about Tali and the quariuns.

It's not a waste of time, it's really intresting. I'm always up for a good story in a game, why I play alot of RPGs, they usually have the best ones, with alot of background infomation.

Normally i can't stand RPG's there just too much bs in between the action and the only thing about ME that keeps me interested is that it has enough shooter in it for it to be fun, none of that stop and select where you want to shoot the enemy crap.  Sitting there going through a long convo with the characters bores me cause i usually leave and get a drink or something to eat while the convos take place, can't do that with ME cause you gotta sit there choosing what to say.  Gets really annoying especially when you are going the paragon route because convos last longer and you must pretend to care about these other characters and shit, i do enjoy the renegade side of it though.  Telling them to go screw themselves and shooting people rather then talking to them is much more efficient lol.
