Dunno how to give a damn.

I'll be frank, I love my adept. I love biotics, but they really suck around anything higher than normal difficulty, where heavily armored enemies aren't common. It's basically cover-warp-reave-warp-warp (you get the idea) until the enemy is down to just health, and then I'd end up finishing it off with another warp. It goes from fun to frustrating quickly, like planet scanning (I still hear that "whoom whoom whoom" sound even after I turn the game off), and everything with just a smidgen of shield/armor/barrier can literally walk through a singularity.

Adepts (in my opinion) are supposed to be crowd controllers, capable of repelling, pulling, and even making enemies float out of cover. Husks are a particular type of crowd, since they attack en masse, thus a singularity in the middle of their walking path is sufficient enough to kill them without firing a shot, but only in normal difficulty. And because normal is too easy, crowd control isn't very important since things die quickly anyway. However, in hardcore/insane, where almost everything has armor/shield/barrier (or all of the above) and hit like a speeding truck (especially the freaking scions), crowd control becomes both important and impossible. The only way crowd control becomes possible is if my squad takes out all protection of all enemies and lets them live long enough for me to "throw" and singularity them to death. And once again, reave/warp spam and squadmates' weapon mods end up becoming an adept's primary source of assistance.

I find all biotics are pretty much weak at harder difficulties. My first attempt at insanity involved my vanguard, I had no way to get through armour and barriars easily, wasn't until later after I had given up that reave works. Sentinal is just as bad, yes it can deal with almost anything. But the weapons are so weak, I spent about five minutes earlier run around the final room on Zaeed's loyalty mission trying to avoid the bloody mech, throwing warps and overloads around, Miranda had bugged and stood in the exact same place, and Zaeed was knocked out. SMG is crap on none fleshy enemies.

Soldier, so far for me has been the easiest, Inflitrator could most likely do very well because of tactical cloak allowing you to line up headshots, and first shot in the cloak does increased damage.

I am REALLY having problems with my Adept on Grunt's loyalty mission... Those flame breathing gits chase me like I am a frickin steak to go on the barbie...

Anyone got any advice on who to take with me... I'm trying Zaeed atm and I NEARLY got the last few and then the sun came out, obliterated the TV image and then I died. God, did I rant at that. Have had to give up because the light is so damned bright in the living room atm... even with my cheapass curtains closed.

Oh and Vi, Pull then Throw are freakin AWESOME imho... but to get them working you have to knock them down to health so you are right... pretty much crap... great for that screaming finish into orbit though. Curving your shots is essential though.

Throw and Pull are very fun moves, but on higher difficulties they don't really matter much.

Get through the armour then knock them down using things like throw and concussive shot. BUt as Vi said, warp, incinerate, Inferno Grenade and Overload are the best abilites in higher difficulties to be able to get through Armour, Barriars and Shields.

ARRGGHHH...

Adepts SUCK at the Damaged Collector Vessel... I mean, TOTALLY SUCK!

I can clear the first platform and then every time I nearly kill a drone HE GETS TAKEN OVER BY THE HARBINGER AND IS AT FULL ****ING HEALTH AGAIN.

How they thought this was "fun" is anyones guess.

Harbinger is a bitch because he comes towards you, meaning that coming out of cover ends with him shotting you to peices, staying in cover ends up with him doing that ability which knocks you out of cover and then he shoots you to peices, fun fun...

I nearly did it... AND THEN THE ****ING GAME GLITCHED ME TO DEATH FROM 100% SHIELDS IN LESS THAN A SECOND!!!!

Sod this game... I hate it. Just killed my ODST controller completely when I threw it across the room when that happened.

It's ****ing impossible... not insanity.

Just got so far and thought I was doing OK and then my shields dropped... I duck behind and Harbie hits me with that thing that makes me stand up JUST AS A SCION SHOCKWAVE COMES THrOUGH. No amount of skill will save you from that.

Bioware ****ed up bigtime...  Angry

I see what you mean now... I think I will have to do a runthrough with an engineer like how I did it last time... at least you can distract the harbinger with the damned drones.

Just put the disk in its box and chucked it in the cupboard. If not for the ****ing glitches and dumbass squadmates I would be able to do it fine... as it is... it's impossible and I am not slogging through Insanity mode again just to find out that the character type is another one that cannot cope. Bioware have seriously put me off this game now.

Hey Neo, I'm going with a Vanguard of all things, talk about frustration. You can do it man, just takes some patience and possible some anti-psychotics if you have any (for those times when you almost have an impossible bad guy beaten, then your controller goes dead, your squadmates frack up big time, or Shephard decides to stand up for no particular reason...)
