It's something I made up while becoming frustrated with the games I play. Here's the definition:

Last Boss Syndrome: When the final boss of one or more video games in the user's possession that appear to be unbeatable, regardless of tactics. Subjects are prone to ragequit, scream, or in extreme cases, enact physical violence on a possession.

So far, the games that are literally unbeatable (for me):

Guitar Hero 3: Can't freaking beat Lou on Hard mode, no matter how much I practice. Stopped because I'm not gonna keep damaging my fingers for nothing.

Mass Effect 2: (insanity) Can't kill the reaper because of those godfor-****ing-saken collectors and Harbinger getting in the ****ing way and making me waste my ammo.

Final Fantasy 13: Orphan (final boss of the storyline) has two skills that can kill instantly, making me waste the 30 minutes of whittling down the 6.7 million health.

Gears of War 1: Can't ****ing kill General RAAM on insane. One exposed pixel and I'm done for.

Prototype: Can't kill the last boss. Too agile, too much defense, and too powerful.

I'm pretty sure someone besides me has a game they can't beat, no matter what they do.

Mass Effect 2. With you on that Red... It wouldn't be so bad if your frickin teammate AI worked right.
Gear1. I can't even beat Raam on CASUAL let alone insanity.
Prototype. I managed it... can't remember how though... I'm playing through the game atm so I will let you know.

Here is one to add..

Jericho... I just got bored trying to finish it.
