[EG NeoMorph]

I'm really having a hard time deciding whether to get Split Second or Blur atm... Blur is easier to drive I think but SS has some damned awesome tracks. Having a jet crash land on top of the cars in front of you is just mind blowing (or car blowing lol). Both games have abilities that you use to modify the race.

Both games have demo's available on XBL.

BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR BLUR AND ONCE AGAIN BLURRRR!!!    I played both demos and Split Second is nothing other then a slower less fun version of Blur and is a waste of money in comparison.

I have to admit I thought that at first... then I played several rounds of it and found that it's more tactical than it appears... Hell, I might just buy both because they are both awesome in their own way. Blur is Wipeout on wheels after all. I just hope there are better tracks than the beta has because I have played those to death.

I do find that Split Second is slower than Blur but when you have buildings falling down, helo's dropping huge container crates, aircraft dropping onto the track and whole sections of track blowing up to reveal new routes just makes Blur seem tame in comparison.

Of course there are going to be better tracks in the full game of Blur and even with those things being dropped onto the track on Split Second i don't know how one can find it to be all that fun.  The action in that game is so slow it feels like your our for a sunday cruise and not racing and then something falls in your way so you just think "ok i guess i'll go this way" and thats what happens. lol
