I have pretty much been following this game for about a year and a half, and because I blew my money on sick headphones and the fact I need to buy a new wireless adapter I don't think I'll be getting Red Dead Redemption for a while

The game is incredible.  GTA/Assassins Creed hybrid on steroids.  TONS of things to do (challenges, missions, secrets, etc.).  The map is HUGE!

The only gripe I have is the damn Rockstar servers were down and I couldn't connect to redeem my pre-order code for the deadly assassin's outfit.  That kind of pizzez me off.

First time I showed up at the town of Armadillo, I walked near the Saloon.  Before I could go in, a guy throws a prostitute out the swinging doors and proceeds to beat her to death.  "Gimmie my money bitch!"  I walk over and she's all bloody along with the wooden walkway.  GTA of the Wild Wild West!  Awesome!!

yeah man i walked out of the saloon after some poker only to find a group of bandits riding through town guns, shooting off in the air, i follow them to a small ranch to find a defenseless farmer.

i help him clear the bandits out and just as i walk in to save his daughter, another bandit shows up and blows her head off.

intense moment man.

almost shed a man tear.

it's shit like this that makes this game incredible.

Wow, you have two more games than I do. Tell your wife you can never have too many games (she'll retort with a possible withholding of sex, but you can reunite with Rosie Palm and her friend Jill). And like Panda said, don't resist the call of the wild. I'm looking forward to getting this kickass game alongside another soon.

I have 56 games at present... 57 either tomorrow or Friday.

I have played 77 games but some were rented and a couple were trashed (Gears of Bore and ImPerfect Dark Zero).

Now most of those game came to £40 but some cost more and a few cost less... so let's just say they all cost £40.

I'm guilty of spending a good amount of games as well, but not every game you (or I) buy needs to be a new release. Get a few cheap games once in a while (suggestion).

i didnt like it for the first 30mins but panda is right it grows on you.... then you stop playing to go to bed. wake up and spend your day thinking what your going to do when you get back on. love it now.

neo i honestly think you would hate this... the mechanics are fairly shit, you get stuck on everything you run by, think of controlling the horse in assassins creed, bout 5x more awkward than that. in saying that i could play it all day as the endless possibilities, and downright despicable things you can get up just makes it way to fun to put down.

Dude, after playing Alpha Pisstake I think I would be able to handle that... rent a copy of AP dude and then see what I mean... Anyway Neo, read this review; it will tell you what you wanna know about the singleplayer part of the game. It's very well-written, and in my opinion, 100,000x better and unbiased than anything the "professional reviewers" can conjure up. (cue ZP animation and dialect) I swear, when Rockstar releases a game, "professional reviewers" tend to rip their spines out and shove their heads so far up their asses they can sustain themselves by eating their own shit.

Along the way you will meet all kinds of memorable, wonderfully written characters. There's the Gollum- like necrophiliac psychopath Seth, the aforementioned drunken rogue Irish, the good-natured farm-girl Bonnie (who quickly became my favorite Rockstar character of all time), the passionate but chauvinistic Mexican freedom fighter Reyes and a hysterically funny chap in rubber gloves who is deeply in love with his horse.

Just got this game today; the pacing is slow and the expert mode aiming is awkward (kinda wish there were crosshairs as opposed to a white dot in the center of the screen) and the horse riding is just as awkward. I haven't gotten far into the game yet, but when I do... I'll consider making an impression of this game.

mate rent it first if you dont like gta too much. horses are a pain and running in small spaces with your gun drawn is excruciatingly painfull, drives me nuts. but if youcan get past that....

yeah i saw the legit credits.

i finished all of the main story.

i still have plenty of side missions and stuff to do as i'm only at 73% completion.. but as far as the main story goes, i made it. and it's awesome.

Well I went ahead and bought it as the damned game is now rare in my town... there was a total of FOUR bought into my local GAME and everywhere else was out of stock.

The horses are slightly irritating but after Alpha Protocol I didn't have any problems with it (other than losing the race with Bonnie lol).

So I get my first bounty poster and go off after the guy... I come across two lawmen chasing a guy and then all of a sudden they start shooting ME and it's ME that gets a bounty... I haven't done squat and I get a bounty... is this a bug???? I reloaded and tried again and the same thing happens... lawmen open up on me for no ****ing reason.

*sigh*

I think I am a bug magnet lol.

Other than that, I kind of like it. I have less problem with this dot reticule than I do for games that use red or green ones... yay for Rockstar. I really didn't like GTA but I do kind of like this...

ONE HIT AND I DIE... WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

I really don't like not knowing how injured I am... I can't believe there is no blood or any other indication that I am injured and one ****ing doggy manages to kill me. I had just finished looting the bounty corpse too.

My biggest hate of the game though is... TOO ****ING FAR TO REACH THE ****ING MISSION AREA AND NO ****ING AUTOSAVES WHEN YOU DO...

Arrrgghhh... Over 2 hours play and I haven't even got ONE bounty mission finished.

Just figured out the save is done by making a camp and THEN doing a save. I thought you couldn't save unless the game did it. I tried looking at the normal menus and it wasn't there so I was rather peed off.

Once I did that I realised what I was doing. Oh and I had aiming on "Expert" and an expert Rockstar gamer I am not... I chased this first bounty half way around the county, cursing that when I went to aim my gun my bloody horse slowed down heh.

neo- use the campsite.

you can fast travel straight to your waypoint from a campsite for free.

just hit the back button and find basic campsite. you can save from there too even out in the middle of nowhere

It's immersive and messed up at the same time. Just recently, when I was hunting deer, elk and beaver in Tall Trees when about four bears came at me, one at a time, a few seconds apart. May have been because I'm in bear county and I've dropped some bait. As I just finished skinning a bear, a man running from a bear appears on my radar, so I kill it. As the guy was about to reward me, he gets mauled from behind by another bear.

Cue me laughing my ass off.

Yeah, some of the scripting is a bit wonky at times. And they got Dead Eye 2 and 3 switched the wrong way around. I found DE2 a LOT easier to use when trying to get a bounty to town.

Another thing... when you enter Dead Eye it is sometimes hard to figure out if it's just a guy on the road or a bandit. When I had NEARLY got my guy to town after a LONG chase I accidentally targetted a neutral... I cancelled the shooting and then get killed because of it.

It's a freaking awesome game though... not since Fallout 3 has a game dragged me into the story but RDR is 100x better. The voice acting is really superb.

Oh and talking about Dead Eye 3. Does anyone else get it refusing to tag some targets... right in the open and I have it smack on their nose and it wont tag the target. Got killed several times because of that too. In the end I was just using DE as bullet time... slowing it down and then just taking the shot. Works every time.

Great. I've gone through 80% of this game and now I'm depressed. I wasn't trying to rush through the game; it just sorta happened, like an unwanted pregnancy.

Oh, and I officially hate cougars in this game more than any animal. Cheap ass bastards.

I tend to go through games relatively quickly and lose interest in them shortly after. Then I get a desire to go after something in a game (like a 100pt achievement), get it, then not play it again. It happens all the time with me. Then I force myself to play something to try to get some form of entertainment out of it. The boredom hits first, but my depression is because of a variety of circumstances and not for this topic.

Well I haven't managed to work out getting easy money yet but I did get the dasterdly achievement just now. "there are Other ways to a girls heart you ass" she said as I dropped her onto the tracks then waited for the train and SPLAT! 
using the invincibility cheat is lots of fun for wiping out the entire town but it does suck big time that you can't save or earn achievements full stop after using them. That's the best part about the likes of gta, being able to get good weapons and transport etc whenever you want. Why can't they let me play through how I want to? Arse...

Look for the bounty hunter skulls and then kill off the support personnel and then capture the guy and return him to base. I tend to sneak up on the horses and kill them to stop the target making a fast gettaway first. This makes the guards attack you (which is fine) and then just shoot the first guy who causes the others to bunch up and then just dead eye them all.

Eaaaaaaaaaaaasy money.

It's definitely the best western game out there... I'm not a fan of westerns and yet I really enjoyed it... Rockstar made a very immersive game to say the least!

I don't like 3rd person games but because they got the camera control right for a change I really liked it and it felt right for the game.

Oh and onto the DLC... Who thinks that this means we are gonna get to rob stuff...

You know what... Rockstar have done GTA where you steal cars... then RDR where you steal horses... There should be a futuristic one next where you steal spaceships.  Perhaps title it OFM...
