Dunno how to give a damn.

« on: July 20, 2010, 07:26:10 PM »

Well, I haven't bought a game in nearly a month, and I've nearly lost the desire to play the ones I have and enjoy them (or at least, collect some achievements). July has been a dry month, and August won't fare any better, since this is supposed to be the drought before the storm (or our wallets being wrung dry). I need help in thinking of a couple of games to buy and enjoy.

Parameters:
Xbox 360 (since my PC is old and stuff)
Nothing from Activision (I've grown tired of their shit)

Fallout 3 (and the first 3 DLCs)
Guitar Hero's 2, 3 and World Tour
Dragon Age Origins
Prototype
WET
Red Faction Guerrilla
Bayonetta
Devil May Cry 4
Final Fantasy 13
Deathsmiles
Left 4 Dead 1
Far Cry 2
Red Dead Redemption
Juiced 2
Bioshock 1
Too Human
Call of Duty's 4 and World at War
Halo 3
Gears of War 1
Bully: Scholarship Edition
Armored Core 4
GRAW 2
FEAR's 1, Files and 2
Mass Effects 1 and 2
Chromehounds
GTA 4
The Orange Box
Battlefield: Bad Company 1
Mirror's Edge
Forza 2
Darksiders
Bullet Witch
Kayne and Lynch: Dead Men
Crackdown 1
Saint's Row 2

Take a break from playing for a bit, i to got bored of my games and playing 360 all together and haven't even turned it on in a couple weeks or so.  Feels good not being tied down with video games for the first time in a few years.

Same here. I got away from games. Everything just feels boring or the same.

I realize how much I actually HATE some of the gameplay. It's just annoying controls/battles/concepts. I realized a lot of games are just overly complicated.

I missed the days of simplicity being part of the fun. I actually been searching EVERYWHERE, just to find mario galaxy in my house.

I suggest looking up some old games you may have missed playing or never got to try. I've been playing my old pokemon games from scratch Grin. And tetris. Omfg. That's ended my nights.

Try out some xbl arcade games too.
Castle Crashers is some side scrolling fun.
Zombie apocalypse is, well a zombie game. Not the best, but meh. It kills time.
Bomberman with some friends.
Card games like texas hold 'em or even Uno is a break from stress and just fun with friends.

Blacklight: Tango Down, is fun too. Just grab the trial and you get an hr of MP and blackops(4 player co-op). It's less seriousness with awesome gun customization and some diff concepts including a HUD that you pop up showing objectives/enemies. You can only melee while using it.
Smoke bombs/flash are traded in with a digital counterpart. Instead the area around the smoke/small flash area is digitalized like a tv censor and your HID can't see past/through it. Also, supposedly, if you get hit by a flash or something your HUD goes into blue screen? But I think that person was joking.

I'm going through my old games and replaying them and getting the DLC as by the time the DLC has come out I have already moved onto other games usually. Just about to play some AssCreed2... without the missing bits... and including the collectors edition areas.

I've very much got into PC gaming at the moment, older games, my computer isn't good enough for later ones. I finally got round to buying Dawn of War soulstorm which arrived today and got one of the settlers game which I enjoyed when I was younger.

L4D2 - Great game, sadly I don't like the levels at all because they just don't feel right, or the fact that there is no thrill to killing zombies in the day time. The characters suck ass and its only good if you have at least another friend to play with you. Worth a rent though IMO.

Bioshock 2 - Amazing game, single player is great yet short lived however multiplayer isn't that bad at all.

Forza 3 - I played it at a friends house and its pretty fun

AC2 - Awesome game, only played it once but I'm thinking about buying it since its only 20 bucks.

GTAIV Lost and Damned + TBOGT - Lost and Damned has an amazing single player and a decent mutliplayer. TBOGT has an okay single player(lots to do though) and so much more new stuff to mess around with on free mode.

And when all else fails I just go back to one of the best games ever, GTA SA.

PC, my friend. That's where the action is at. I normally get 4 to 5 Versus games a week with friends only so no one can ragequit after the first level (and if they do, they're not invited back). Also, have you ever heard the Tourette's Guy Tank mod? It's so much better than the default Tank sounds.

And when all else fails I just go back to one of the best games ever, GTA SA.

I remember getting all 100 tags in Los Santos right away and making a master save file. I've probably completed that game more times than any other I've ever played.

i've really been diggin' Project Reality lately.

i don't know how much you're into extreme realism in your shooters, but if you like teamwork and tactics, and have 10 bucks to spend on Battlefield 2, the mod is easy to download and free of course.

check it out

Not sure if you've played it, but Mass Effect 2 is a good one. Should be less than 60 right now, plus lots of great DLC with more on the way...

LIMBO IS CRUCIAL.

if you haven't played it, download it, turn all the lights off, and enjoy this incredible gaming experience.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm gonna get some M$ points instead of a new game and give Limbo a play, assuming it has a demo. And I'm a little iffy on Blacklight: Tango Down.
