Hey guys,

So Christmas is around the corner...kinda, well it will be here faster than we know it.

And for presents, I wanted to get my GF a camera. Problem is...I know absolutely zilch about cameras. I wanna get her a legit on, priced at around 300 dollars. I dont want it to be compact, persay, but I dont want it to be super bulky.

If you guys have any suggestions, or feedback post it here, I'm absolutely clueless.

You gotta have some idea other than not compact... There is the next level up (compact superzoom) which don't look compact to me... Is she going to play around with digital photography and if so are you going to get a cheap digital SLR maybe? Unfortunately they will be more expensive...

But the new compact superzooms.... like this one below is in your price range...

Click to see original size <-click on for big pic

Oh and the zoom is amazing...

... it's like a camera with a hard on lol.

And here is a review...

It has some flaws but it should give you an idea of what to look for in that price range...

greeaaat when i was reading his post i had that exact camera in mind. But yeah, That one will work for what you probably need. It sits well between casual use, and professional as well as allowing amateur photographers to get the most bang for their buck with relative ease.(having to change lenses is a popular confusion).
