[EG NeoMorph]

As the price of the Kindle has come down and there is a new version coming out I decided to go ahead and pre-ordered one.

Amazon's new Kindle

I've ordered the WiFi only one as it has better battery life... ONE MONTH on one charge sounds amazing.

At the moment I read my ebooks on my iPaq and it uses loads of juice and the screen isn't easy to read in sunny weather. The Kindle on the other hand is apparently very clear to read in sunny places. The final thing that made me go ahead and order is that they have FINALLY opened a UK Kindle store so no more having to order in dollars and having a 1 UK pound surcharge added for every denomination exchange from my bank.

This will be my first proper e-reader and I am looking forward to getting the darn thing like a kid waiting for Christmas morning...

Well my Kindle arrived today and my first impression was it looked a bit sucky as it was black and light grey rather than black and white. This was after my first thought that the screen image was a piece of paper to help protect the thing... it wasn't... it was the actual image on the screen.

The image is a bit dark too... so I thought "Oh dear... not going to like this"...

So I go download a book and start reading... and reading... and reading...

Yup... the darn screen is actually easy on the eyes.
