I LOVED BS1 and BS2, mainly because of the theme's of them. The underwater theme, 50's-60's theme, and stuff. I really don't know about being in the sky I'd much rather have another one underwater. However I can see that it wouldn't be BS3 because we already escaped Rapture, so it would have to be an entirely different storyline, so I can see why they are doing this.

Test Pilot: "I have great confidence that it will all turn out fine. This technological marvel will prove that heavier than air objects can fly!"

*Jumps from dirigible platform*

*Bronze canopy opens above test pilot*

Well mythbusters proved a lead balloon works, so... you know. LOL.

Pounding bronze thin enough so that it can hold up to its own weight as well as a humans would probably make it incredibly easy to break apart/rip.

ANYWAYS. IMO, this is a proper "sequel". It has the bioshock "theme" but with a diff story unique theme tweak.

Essentially I'm hoping this goes the way of my idea of a proper sequel. (well, for a game that already completed it's own main story arch)
Same game style/play using this theme(the steampunk-esque bioshock style).
Gameplay is similar(controls, action(looselybased),
Optional: Similar bioshock universe. Be pretty awesome if this was post-bioshock but someone had used ideas from history/what is known of Rapture and it's advances.

I'm hoping for updated plasmids! Or possibly archaic versions of the plasmids depending on how the story is.

Any ideas on how the game might go? or any new info?

Yeah. It takes place in 1918. The city is called ''Columbia'' and you are a Pinkerton agent looking to save this girl.

Sounds good, fits the mood the trailer gave off as well.

Im hoping as far as "bioshock sequels" go, it will go the way of the recent fallout in terms of using the story, characters, etc. Doesn't necessarily piece altogether to the past "incarnations".

Am I the only one who wish they would do a System Shock 2 sequel?

I am too.

To make matters worse, SS2 ended on a cliffhanger. But to be fair the rights for SS2 probably went down with the publisher.

Stickynote:
Bioshock 2 is only 30 dollars NEW at target.

seeing as a used copy at gamestop is 35$, this is a beast of a deal.

No wonder Bioshock 2 didn't seem as good... it wasn't done by Irrational Games (the ones who did the original Bioshock and System Shock 2).

Bioshock Infinite is a city in the sky called Columbias that vanishes after an international incident. Sounds rather sweet tbh.

Bioshock 2 so far seems bland. Not as much charm, I don't really care for being a big daddy much so far, and yeah. Creepy still (bitch creeped up on me while I checked a recently opened stall I swore was closed).
Saw it coming, turned around, saw her staring at me and walking up slowly.
Freaked out, started shooting, missed, screamed because I was missing and getting hit, tried to explain to gf who had put attention towards cell phone.
Looked like biggest b**** ever.

anyways, is this being made by the og studio and most of the og team? If not, anyone/group worth mentioning that are contributing work?

I can see this being easily messed up. I hope they listen to the community a bit.. A demo similar to MP where we can test out our dislikes/problems would be great. So far I dislike the controls in bioshock2. Not as smooth somehow. Sensitivity, movement, etc.

Bioshock 2 was done by another gaming studio... Bioshock Infinite is being done by the studio that made the first Bioshock and System Shock 2.

I still wish for System Shock 3 to be made... SS2 was a classic (I bet Vi would agree with me there).

I figured on bioshock2 and you mentioned it.

+1 internet for og bioshock team working on infinite.

System shock3 would be interesting but it would have to go like fallout so it can be played independently to SS. Otherwise a revamped SS for the masses would be interesting. Even if it's an arcade title.

Here's a (scripted) gameplay trailer for the game. Totally awesome.

I like the new approach to making the game scary.

They figured out the problem in the first game that, well, you never really felt alone and desperate even though that's what they were going for. Now they are trying it again with an unconventional approach. That part where everyone decided to toast even though there was just a cannon shot outside was chilling.

The woman sweeping out the entranceway to this one building while it and she was on fire was the most chilling to me.

One thing though... the release date for this title is supposedly in 2012... isn't it a bit early to start with the adverts?
