Can you guys help me? I uninstalled Trend Micro PC Cillin Internet Security 12 because it ran out of subscription. And now my firewall is turned off and i cant turn it back on. Does Avast Free Antivirus have a firewall?

I don't think it's a firewall issue... I think PC-Cillin (which I used to use a lot but it's been a while) actually sets a proxy server up... when you uninstall it you find that emails refuse to download because the proxy server is no longer there.
If it IS a firewall issue though I would run a check for spyware issues. What operating system are you using btw?

And is it the firewall refusing to start up???
I swear that some of these so called "security" programs have the worst freakin uninstall scripts on the planet. I just use Win 7's firewall and the firewall on the router to help protect me... I also use Avast (the free version) and have not had one virus get through in recent years, although Avast threw up a huge viral attack after a botched update heh.
Worst thing that I have come across is frickin websites that refuse to let you shut them. I was searching for something on google which opened up a pron site which I closed which opened another one, and another one and then opened up goddamned child frickin sick stuff. I just took down the URL and killed off the browser and then reported it to the anti-child porn site. Wierd enough was the site was registered in the USA when I looked it up. Sites like that should have the owners castrated with a dull knife.
But you can't go wrong with Avast...

and to why you don't ask me when I'm a simple phone call/IM away is beyond me.
Just to have your windows firewall back up I would go grab the latest update online(or a previous one and allow windows to update yours itself) to restore any problems/priorities the previous firewall setup.
and Comodo does work well, besides being touchy and popping up a lot asking for what you want it to do.
But, think of it as a home security system that starts counting down everytime something hits your window(strong wind as well). Better safe than sorry.
