Problem?

« on: September 19, 2010, 07:49:55 PM »

Let's get a new thread going.

I feel like VERY few people know how this works or are using it incorrectly.
I've gotten really fond of this armor ability.

So far it's my favorite depending on how the game is going/gametype. I use it mostly in the ranked games or vehicle heavy maps. (Finally pwned two ghosts with it who kept trying to run ppl over).
I noticed the EMP got toned down but I think it's still there. I've been EMP+Melee people. I ended up with 12 melees with only like 6-8 gun kills.
Otherwise I've used it to block instadeaths(rockets, run over, about to die, etc).
And dodge right out of armor lock.

Nade spammers are getting mad though haha.

What's everyone's thoughts on all the armor abilities?

I notice a lot of people use it when they are being shot at by standard weapons as well. I generally only play with friends so we sit there and wait, then the guy gets shot.

I quite often use the jetpack, use it to flank whilst the rest of the team distracts. Works great on maps like zealot

A lot of people are getting jet happy and ppl are just picking them off in the air now. But I see the amount of ppl using them in just any random gametype has gone down.

I'm getting used to saying **** it, and using sprint a lot because it's the standard in a lot of gametypes like swat.

Hologram is fun and helpful. Walking straight causes some people to just completely ignore you haha. When a sniper is watching me I send a holo a few times, and when he stops shooting (around the time it's cooled down), I just walk past like a holo.

Ppl are using it whilst camping -_-;. Annoying me haha.

Haha! The camping jetpack+assassination was great.

I finally got an aerial assassination. (funny enough, after messing a real epic one the match before).
This one was just from jumping a short height. Im not sure if itwas a real aerial assassination(ie if it exists), or it just looked that way. It looked like I kneed the guy or something and tossed him down and something something.

Tricking people with Hologram is the greatest.
Armor Lock and Jetpack are useful sometimes, but the jetpack flies forward so slowly that it's an easy snipe.
Sprint is the most useful one to me.

I was playing with a friend, pissing about finding the different animations.

There is, that I know of so far;

-Both in the air
-Sprinting into someone
-Coming from above
-2 sword animations.
-Whilst Crouching
-A number of regular.

Both elites and spartens have about the same amount of animations.

Slamming into someone(sprinting I believe/coming from above possibly), slamming them into the ground and then a stab. One of my favorite assassinations.

Also somehow.. i like sprint being an armor lock. Somehow, it fits, and things feel balanced.

Jetpacks don't seem too worth it, at least compared to the others.

The Jetpacks needs to be used in conjunction with a team. In a FFA I do agree it has little use, but in team slayer, get a good team going and the more mobile guy with a jetpack can do a lot of harm.

I think Evade is the most useful armor ability available. I've killed a few people in close range by rolling, pulling out the sword, then slashing from wherever the enemy is looking. People have caught on to both the hologram and Armor Lock, rending both useless.

Sprint comes after Evade in usefulness, as running from a fight is always optional.

Some people are getting smart with the hologram. A whole team rushed 2 of us and it was a pain trying to deal with 4 guys when 4 holos are in your way.

I've found that stripping down to just using sprint works best for me. Too much other muck that just using sprint works so I dont have to think too much lol. I guess im slow.
