Damn... nice idea but I need to run it on my new PC (which I can't atm because it needs some leads I don't have).

I can't believe I've already spend over £1200 on stuff because I bought a £16 copy of Flight Simulator X Gold. I must be going mad!

Ah, I should have figured that was your dilemma.
Well, for future reference then, you can use that site lol.

I'm out of the money otherwise I wish i could build a comp... or a lot of my other hobbies/interests. Ugh.

Good luck Neo, hope this build goes perfectly well for you.

Crysis is actually fairly easy to run. Running it well, however, is another story entirely.

That said, you should be able to run this really really well.

This is weird...

The Steam release of Crisis: Maximum Edition is £25.
Download of Crisis: Maximum Edition from GAME is £25.
Buying the retail boxed version of Crisis: Maximum Edition from GAME is £12.

Confused!.... that £12 is with delivery included as well.

Well I'm in the process of installing the software and patches etc and there is one thing that I am amazed at... IT'S SO QUIET compared to my Athlon 2800+.

Even the fans are quiet... not stressed it yet of course but I am really looking forward to using it now.

OH GOD... 61 Windows Urgent Updates...

It's only in an Antec 300 case ( bog standard bottom of the range gaming case ) so it doesn't look spectactular.

The build inside is VERY tidy though. Overclockers do a wonderful job.

I'll try and get a few pics today but wait until I put together my test bed for the flight simulator... I'm going to be building an ATR 72-500 when I have finished (hopefully).

That build will run Crysis with ease. Actually, it will max out almost any game you throw at it for the next 2-4 years. By the way, is there any chance within the next two years you will switch out your motherboard for one that has SLI?

Err... this one does support SLI and even has USB 3 with 3xPower (whatever that is). For SLI I have to put the other card into the other light blue slot.

I know it has SLI because I just read about it... Actually I was thinking of getting another gfx card next week and hooking up the SLI.

Oh and it runs Flight Sim X at total max at about 40-50fps running the Flight 1 ATR 72-500 and that model is MEGA complicated... it even has to be started up from scratch using external power or from an APU which has to be started up before you can start up the engines. Hell, the manual has nearly 500 pages... I know I ask for immersion and boy does this thing give me immersion. IT'S FRICKIN AWESOME!

Edit: Damn... Never spotted that only one PCI-E is running at 16x... I was sure I read that I could do SLI somewhere... Nuts!

Edit2: What... It DOES have 2 slots that are X16 but one of them is running at x4. I don't understand!

It says "1 PCI Express 2.0 x16 , 1 PCI Express x16 ( x4 mode ) , 1 PCI Express x1 , 3 PCI"

I think I will ring up Overclockers tomorrow and find out if it does or does not support SLI. If it doesn't it should at least run another graphics card for extra monitor outputs for my simulator.

I think you need 2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots on a motherboard in order for the board to have SLI. The PCI Express x16 slot is probably made for older graphics cards, kinda like old-school PCI slots.

Well the answer to "Will my new PC run Crysis" is NO!

Why?

BECAUSE ROYAL MAIL HAVE LOST MY ****ING PACKAGE.

Got to wait 15 days worth of Mon-Fri before I can even claim for it as well. What's more ANOTHER thing that was posted on the same day has gone missing as well.

The post managed to lose a package I sent to my sister before xmas as well... Royal Mail are bloody hopeless.

Happened with me, I ordered a parcel from amazon on the 7th Dec. Didn't get it until the 29th. I wasn't at home because it was my nephew's first birthday. So tried to get them to redeliver it for last Wednesday, never arrived, hope it got sent back to amazon or I will end up paying double for what I ordered. Had to get a replacement, which actually the replacement was ordered before the original came because I thought it lost in the post.

Seriously, everytime I use amazon, my orders always get ****ed up, but it is the only place to get most books that I can think of.

My books arrive rather quickly from Amazon... and from Baen Books too... Usually less than 30...

SECONDS! Cheesy

Yup... hit the "One Click" button and less than 30 seconds later it appears on my Kindle via Whispernet.

Can't beat that for delivery heh...

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY KINDLE! Best piece of kit for readers out there!

My sister says that Royal Mail are working through a huge backlog because of the snow before Xmas would you believe.

OK, here is something confusing... Overclockers got the specs wrong on my mobo...

Quote
Expasion slots: 2x PCIe 2.0 x16 Slots, 2x PCIe x1 Slots & 3x PCI Slots (Supports ATI CrossFireX Technology)

... and yeah they got Expansion named wrong too heh.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-248-GI

Yet here is what the spec REALLY is for this motherboard...

Quote
   1. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4 (PCIEX4_X1)
   2. 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16)

(The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)
   3. 3 x PCI
   4. 2 x PCI Express x1

http://ee.gigabyte.com/products/mb/specs/ga-p55-usb3_10.html

Looks like it supports Crossfire but not SLI...

I agree here, is most likely right, but when you ask them to redeliver something, you expect it to be done so.

The one thing that companies should do when there are problems delivering (whether it is Royal Mail or a courier service) is OWN UP TO PROBLEMS and not hide them. Customers respond a lot better when they admit to having problems and only a small amount will complain. But when they hide the fact that they are having problems and then the customers get pissed off ringing the couriers or Royal Mail then it causes more annoyance.

Apparently new items added to the deliveries are being delivered right away... older ones are being delivered when they can... LIKE WTF?
