Call of Duty: Modern Warfare publisher Activision has repeatedly stated that Infinity Ward is doing fine since heads Vince Zampella and Jason West were ousted from the company early last year. A report on the LA Times' Company Town blog, however, tells a different story -- according to the piece, both Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have been tasked with helping develop the next, still unannounced Modern Warfare title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
"People familiar with the situation" claim that Sledgehammer is working with the remaining staff at Infinity Ward on developing the game's single-player campaign, while Singularity developer Raven Software is in charge of bringing up the multiplayer side of things. The sources also contend that, like past Call of Duty titles, MW3 is expected to ship this November. Additionally, Sledgehammer is said to have halted production on its own spinoff Call of Duty title in order to help IW out.
Update: Activision issued a comment in response to the LAT piece, stating, "There's been much specultion recently. We look forward to releasing details for the next Call of Duty in the near future."
So there are 2 possible scenarios.. either that these 3 companies put their minds together and come out with a pretty good game.. or that they make a game that's complete shit.. like Black Ops

Watch that video.. makes some good points. Also he kinda brings up the point I've been stressing for ever.. MW2 was fine!! No need for anything else just make everything balanced. However Treyarch doesn't believe that and just makes a completely awful game known as Black Ops(Treyarch has made the 3 worst Call of Duty's, even though I loved WaW personally).
Anyways, think of MW2 without tubes, danger close, stopping power, painkiller, OMA, low powered chopper gunner, more health(since you die very quickly in that game, a little more balance in the guns and obvi no JTAGs.. and just think of that....
It would of been such a good game if it wasn't for those things that just completely ruined the game.
I wonder though if the heads of IW never left if most of that stuff would of gotten patched.
However blame it all on Activision.. all they want is money.. they completely ruined the music market with just milking GH and they still are!! I say if they keep up at this pace, CoD will be gone in a matter of 2-3 years.

Black Ops Single Player was the best damned campaign of ALL the COD titles. And as far as MW2 being fine... LOOK... IT'S A FLYING PIG? I like Black Ops a hell of a lot more than MW2 ever was.
MW3 is going to be a mess... We all know what happens when you throw too many programmers at a product... look at Microsoft for example heh.
The king of multiplayer will still be DICE because Activision will make IW/Sledgehammer/Raven stick with the old 90's game engine that doesn't even let you open doors ffs. COD NEEDS A NEW GAME ENGINE! One that doesn't lag like a bitch all the time and lets you interact with the environment. DICE can do it so others should be able to as well.

Anyways.. I did think that Black Ops had a damn good campaign.. really original and wasn't what I was expecting(I expected either the same old battle missions like the WWII CoD's, or the generic "Bad evil super villain" that was in CoD4 and MW2). But I mean I was very disappointed with the levels, as I know this game was about the Cold War but I really wished that they would touch on the Vietnam jungle scene a lot more as they did a fantastic job on WaW with the Japanese levels. (But when you think about it really the whole Vietnam scenes didn't have much to do with the story line, though I think they should of put more Reznov memories or whatever there).
I'm going to have a terribly disagree with the fact that MW2 was a bad game. First off, that was a super good campaign even if it was short. It's the kind of campaign that keeps you wondering(just like CoD4) while Black Ops.. ehh.. the end kind of solves the whole thing. Spec Ops was just a one time thing with absolutely no replay value at all. However the Spec Ops missions were absolutely amazing, loved them so much.
I'm a competive gamer, played so much MLG in MW2 and I'll have to say that since MLG didn't have all the gay stuff such as chopper gunners, tubes, danger close, etc.. you really got to experience what the game was like with out all the gay stuff. I mean you guys aren't really coming from my point of view, but I really think that MW2 would be one of the best FPS games of all time if it just had the gay stuff cut down and gone. Since all WaW was, was a port of CoD4 mulitplayer but WWII style.. I was hoping BO would just be a port of MW2 but Cold War style with a bunch of gay stuff cut down. But instead they had to go around trying to make their own and it just turned out to be a failure. Sure BO is getting much more respect then WaW ever got(actually whenever I see people on the Internet talk about CoD.. they only talk about 4, MW2, and BO.. always skip over WaW).. however IW was always the better developer(if we exclude the fact that half the staff wasn't gone
). Anyways point is that MW2 had so much potential but was ruined due to those things I listed in my last post.
DICE does have an EXTREMELY good multiplayer I'll have to side with you on that. I'll really never complain about anything in BFBC2, yet the only thing that frustrates me is having a terrible team.. can't do crap.
Does CoD need another engine..? Answer is no.. MW2 had a fine engine and really BO demonstrates really the maximum amount of interaction you can get with the game such as the doors on Radiation or Rocket on Launch. CoD has too fast of a game flow to have someone sit there and play with things like BFBC2, added the fact that an average CoD map only fits 1/20 or less of the average DICE map. Anyways I think people are fine with what was in MW2 and should stay that way.
One thing I have to bring up though about CoD maps are that they have to STOP with the two sided maps!! Really now.. the new BO map-packs maps look like they have the worst game-play ever!! Look at maps like Rundown, Ambush, and all those other maps that are two sided and you have to cross the middle to get to the other side.. they are shit and my god they play terrible. Now they are making a map where the only way to cross the map is by dodging auto-turrets.. are you kidding me!! God I feel embarrassed to even play Black Ops with those kind of maps that are coming in.
Anyways like I stated before, 3 different ideas will either turn out good or turn out bad.

Ambush... one of my all time favourite COD4 maps...
The difference I think between me and you Yeehz isn't the game but the game play. I like tactical maps (which Ambush is if you play it right). No running around like a rabbit with its arse on fire shooting anything that pops up isn't a shooter, it's a carnival game. I like shooters where the team play as a team and move up which is why I love gold rush and the BC2 equivelant... it forces sides to work together.
COD4 was excellent but for the damned corner lag due to client to client gaming. Maps were intelligent and fun... It all started going to hell when they released the map pack... the maps were crap.
And why were the maps crap? Because every point you shot from has 2, 3 or 4 points to shoot you from. You need eyes all around your head. If you snipe from back in a room, the map designer adds a light bulb made out of ultra kevlar. Oooh there is a window I can shoot from, I'll just open the shutter... DOH!... Room is frozen in time. And those points are all the reasons why I hate the COD engine... IT IS STATIC... 21st century maps should be DYNAMIC. Look at Bad Company 1 and 2. If there is a method of sniping or hiding, in next to no time the place gets hammered and new tactics are thought up. The map flow changes from week to week. The nubs who keep doing the same thing keep getting ganked in no time. COD on the other hand, you learn the map and that is it pretty much. The flow is pretty much static. You can't make your own doorways or shooting spots.
COD with a dynamic map engine would make it sooooo much better. Keeping it fresh is the way to go. The players who learn the one trick are COD players... The players who adapt and overcome are Bad Company players. It's two different groups of people which is why there are so many arguments between the two fanbases.

Believe me 100%, I am an extreme tactical player. I play a lot of competitive games and all me and my team will do is play tactical. I think whats different is our viewpoint of the maps, as I view a majority of CoD maps as terrible, especially the ones that are two sided. I feel like two sided maps do not work at all because crossing the middle is usually a death sentence. Then, it makes it worse in Black Ops that now you have to cross the middle where there's no cover, auto-turrets that shoot you down, and a many tall buildings that are centered right towards the middle.
When CoD trys to make a center point of the map it just doesn't work.. all maps have a center to it(duh).. but when you look at maps like Wasteland, Array, etc that have that definite center point where everything revolves around in the map, it just doesn't work out the best. Then again, 2 sided maps where everything revolves around the middle strip just doesn't work. Now maps like Favela, Karachi, etc have so many battles that happen around the map making them great maps.
Look at the loved CoD map Crossfire,.. the there is no center point that the whole map revolves around, so it leaves all the firefights to happen in the buildings, building to buildings, on the streets, etc.
Just for a summary of my thought.. a map with a center-point(ex Wasteland and Array) or strip of no mans land(ex Rundown and Ambush) has a definite point on the map were the battle revolves around. Then when you have a map with many different ranges of fighting, no definite center point.. then your going to have much more exciting combat variables for game play.

Ambush was easy to cross... Suppressing fire from teammates, through the tunnel, diversions, smoke... loads of ways through.
Two side maps are more indicative of frontlines in a battle. The rest of the maps are just a Benny Hill style where everyone runs around looking for other people who are running around. COD multiplayer is just a random bunch of boredom for me... The campaigns are the real attraction I find. In the campaign you get a frontline that you have to push though most of the time... The closest I got to seeing the multiplayer sillyness was the Favela level in MW2.
I much prefer knowing that if I am going to shoot someone that I won't get shot in the back (which always seems to happen in COD it seems). I hate the kill chains that happen a lot. BC2 on the other hand, you have a defined objective. COD is just running around with your brain removed and it's all down to luck and fast reactions (twitch gaming as it's called) ... BC2 is down to tactics and accuracy.
Unfortunately I'm getting forced to play less of these because my disability means my nerve damage is getting worse which means slower responses, lack of accuracy and I'm not as fast any more. Consequently I bitch and moan about the fact that I would rather play campaigns where I know the most likely direction of the enemy heh. I admit it... I'm just not up to playing multiplayer any more. Come March I doubt I will be renewing my Xbox Live subs.

Close... it's actually "Too many cooks spoil the broth". Or in this case "Too many egocentric developers and money grabbing Bobby Kotic spoil the First Person Shooter".
I hear that COD 8 will have a legendary pack with a piece of card that you lay over your controller to make it look like a radio control plane controller to match the mini UAV you have in the game. That is all that is in the Legendary pack and it will cost 140 UK Pounds or 280 US Dollars.

You are both correct in that saying, just depends on which country your in to which is right.
Black Ops killed multiplayer fun, my 360 hasn't been turned on in days and I've been having fun playing Command & Conquer: The First Decade.

Heh... weird coincidence time... I had that drop on my head yesterday... It was stuck on the top of the cupboard out of the way and got knocked off. What are the odds of that?
I was looking for my copy of C&C3 at the time... That never ran right on my old PC but should run sweet on my new one.

yep. black ops kicks the shit out of mw2, apart from the maps. give me black ops with cod4 maps and youve got a winner.
iw never cared about international community and for that they can get F%^&*. i dont care what they do.

Black Ops is the second most balanced CoD game out there. the First is CoD4.
Perhaps dedicated servers for MW3?
Too much? thought so.
