All I can say is WOW... Best... FPS... EVER!

It's really enjoyable in first person and the combined abilities work really well. You can pull off some really awesome moves now. The graphics are sweet and only suffer framerate problems rarely. Set Pieces are amazing too (only I tended to be gawking at other things a lot of the time and miss them the first time). You can upgrade the nanosuit

Not to say that it's perfect because it isn't... one of my pet peeves about it is sometimes you can click to enable a power setting and it turns it on and then off again. It even happens in the menus using other buttons so it seems to be a common fault with the game itself rather than the joypad. It can be really annoying when you have a short window to turn on armour or invisibility only for you to turn it on and off again and before you can remedy it you are dead. Also the story seems a bit confusing atm as it doesn't link with Crysis 1 (other than seeing Prophet at the beginning for a short while).

So yeah, I'd give this a 9.5/10... It's really enjoyable... I'm only taking a break because I didn't get any sleep last night and I'm absolutely shattered... For me this is what I've been looking for in a power suit game... And amazingly it runs on a 360, PS3 and PC... Awesome. Only reason I got it on the 360 was for the multiplayer.

Got to a big fight in central station and there is so much going on that the bloody framerate drops through the floor making it pretty much unplayable. Shame because it was really epic. The framerate is so bad that you can't even control your character right... he seems to remember commands you did 3 seconds ago and finally go "Ohhhh... you wanted me to jump did you?"...

Spoiled the whole game imho... if they know there are framerate issues then TONE DOWN THE ****ING EFFECTS CRYTEK!

Well got past it and it went great again... this game is DEFINITELY good for content... longest FPS I have played in years... and the best I think.

Oh yeah... and I STILL haven't finished it heh....

I hear the multiplayer has a few problems and the PC versions are glitchy (thank god I went with the 360 version hehe).

I finished it this afternoon. Oh god, what a great story. Most immersive FPS yet (and you know how I love immersion). Most games throw a lot of unbelievable crap at you and don't explain it... In this game a lot of answers come together making you go "Ohhhhhh so that's why X happened and why Y was there in the first place!"... it just flows together.

Makes sense... They used a real Science Fiction writer (Richard Morgan) rather from some idiot they found delivering the water cooler one day.

Oh and once you unlock parts of the suit they STAY unlocked in further runthroughs... Letting you tackle the game a different way to your first run through. It's AWESOME!

I tried the PC multiplayer demo of the game, and I have to say that is was impressive. Unfortunately, I can't play this or any PC FPS game because it's gonna make me physically sick.

Great to know that the 360 version has fewer problems than I originally thought.

Why would an FPS make you physically sick??? Too many of them?

I'm playing it through on SuperSoldier difficulty now (highest difficulty). You need to play it through on lower levels first to get used to the suit and of course upgrade the darned thing. Real good fun for sure. I doubt I will be able to finish it on SuperSoldier though... it's VERY unforgiving... Get caught in a crossfire and you are dead in less than a second.

Actually I didn't... Mind you if an FPS would give you motion sickness then Crysis 2 in 3D would probably make him hurl up something from last year hehe... it does sway a bit (and no I don't have a 3D setup... I'm just guessing).

Well I finished the game on Super Soldier difficulty. It was pretty easy to be honest.

Then I tried multiplayer... what a dog's breakfast that was... I started spawning right in front of an enemy on my very first match. At first I thought "FFS, start the game and get TK'd right away!" but no, it was actually an enemy... WORST SPAWNING EVER!

And the multiplayer gaming was weird too... until I checked my ping and found it on 2 bars... on a 20mb cable connection. Something is pear shaped there. I think as the years go by my internet connection has got worse and worse while my speeds should be getting faster and faster. Latency SUCKS!

Oh well, I doubt I will be renewing my Live Gold membership this year (next month actually). I hardly play multiplayer now because I just plain suck at it.

Precisely. I get nauseated and develop a headache an hour into a PC FPS. More developers should allow the user to turn off the weapon/arm sway; and I don't care if it reduces "realism".

The word I used to describe the first Crysis was "Clunky." Everything felt clunky. The powers felt clunky, the combat felt clunky, traveling felt clunky, etc.

The nanosuit of the first game was the biggest culprit of this. Your powers were too powerful, but they drained your energy damn near instantaneously. Here, they've been tuned perfectly to flow with the game. Crysis 2 does not feel clunky in the slightest.

A lot of people complained that they took a lot of the freedom out of Crysis 2. I'd say "Yes and no." There are less options, but the options that are there are more defined and deliberate to deliver the best experience. The challenge is perfect, especially for me since I am a little rusty with first person shooters(Been playing a lot of RPGs lately.) It never feels unfair but at the same time, is just challenging enough to feel motivated to use the various powers. This was on the regular difficulty setting by the way.

The graphics need no introduction. But I have to say that they look amazing. One of the problems I had with the first game's graphics was that it lacked art. It had the details, but the graphics were really repetitive.

90% of both Crysis and its Expansion were Jungle, Steel Hallways and Ice. With the exception of the alien mothership. But the aesthetic gets boring really quickly because in any given level, there's only ONE thing you saw.

Here, there's a great variety of colors and details that really bring Manhattan to life. With flora, windows, building details, ground litter, TVs, etc. And the star of the show here is the explosions. The explosions could make the game itself. And they are awesome. The lighting is good too.

More thoughts soon, I hope. :x
