OK so I was looking for info for my flight simulator when I came across this accident report...
"The aircraft was on its take-off run at moderate speed when it was hit by a fish resulting in the cancellation of the take-off."
If you think I'm joking just look at
http://www.jacdec.de/news/months/09_07.htm - It has a list of accident reports and it's the fifth one down. Can you just imagine being on that flight and the captain coming on the intercom saying "I am afraid the flight has been cancelled due to fish."
Shame it didn't happen on April 1st... heh.
Another entry made me giggle too...
"The 737 safely diverted to Makassar (Ujung Padang) after the pilots noticed a crash in one of the windshields during cruiselfight."
SAY WHAT?
"The aircraft received minor damage when it collided with a stray pig on the runwax during its landing rollout. The pilots were able to proceed to the terminal where all deplaned normally. Collisions with pigs are nort uncommom at Nagpur´s Dr Babasaheb Abedkar International Airport."
Ok, this is getting silly now... AND THIS IS REAL LIFE...
"On final approach the aircraft experienced birdstrike resulting in minor damage to its nose undercarriage and preventing the 737 from leaving the runway. The runway was closed for about 30 minutes. After the aircraft was towed to its parking stand, the remains of the bird were placed near the aircraft. Once the engines were start-up the bird remains were ingested into an engine causing unknown damage again."
Oh ffs... DARWIN AWARD TIME!
