Hi Gamer,
As one of our valued and trusted Battlefield players, we are happy to invite you to participate in the Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial. All the instructions you need to join are printed below.

We are inviting you specifically because we think you have a great interest in the Battlefield series, and because we think you understand the technical issues that might arise this early in a game's development cycle.

The purpose of the Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial is to do a number of server-related tests in preparation for game launch, including load testing our back-end. We are also looking to you to provide us with any feedback on the entire Alpha Trial experience.
Please note that this is not the Open Beta due in September, it's not the Beta promised to buyers of Medal of Honor™ Limited Edition and this is not a public demo. This is a highly tech-focused Alpha Trial that does not represent final quality of the game. Performance at this early stage of development will potentially be choppy and far from optimal, and we will bring the servers down at our leisure if needed. There will be periods of downtime and periods when we run tests that will negatively affect the performance on the Alpha Trial servers (leading to lag and rubber banding, etc.).

It's legit too... client is downloading as I type this. Thank god I upgraded my gaming PC

It's not bad but for one thing... no settings screen that I can find.

Mind you I've not used Origin before... I can't even play it full screen for some reason. Have to play it windowed.

Other than that, it flows well, the lag is missing (which is awesome but there is a stress test this weekend so will know better then) and the game sounds amazing. Bad side is I can't seem to get the darn thing light enough to see what the hell I am doing in the game. Check on YouTube and you will see what I mean.

And I love that animation at the beginning 1:08 or so when you go from prone to stand up your screen isn't just moving up, you can see your whole body jerk up. This game isn't going to be like Bad Co 2 IMO it's going to be much more fast pace action.. at points in BC2 the gunfights got intense but not all the time. In this game there is going to be good hard gun fights all the time. I can't wait!!

Lucky dude. Then again, I'm not exactly hyped up for BF3. The gameplay looks solid from what I've watched in the video (which I'm sure will be shot down soon), and from what I've read, there will be more emphasis on teamwork in this game than in the Bad Company series.

I'll more than likely get it, but not on day 1.

Pre order it.. you'll get the back to Karkand map pack(BF2 and BFV maps) for free, as well as the following from each store:

Gamestop: Type 88 gun and a few others
Amazon: Unique dog tags for multiplayer
Best Buy: 8 multiplayer gunskins

So you pick where you want to pre order.. If your going to buy the game anyway, why not preorder.. Just put $5 down on it and get the map pack and stuff.. it will be well worth it

The amazing thing is that you look down you can even see your legs... I think up to now the only game to do that was Mirror's Edge. The animation is utterly superb and the sound quality is amazing. The guns even "feel" right (the other end of the scale is Brink... the guns in that game just felt crap). Even have the recoil right it seems.

Have to say that BF3 is going to kick MW3's ass for sure. Oh and Game and Gamestation pre-orders get this...
