Bah... Totally lame psychic AI. My teammate can be standing up and I'm behind a nice thick wall AND I END UP GETTING SHOT TO SHIT.

Game makers really should include threat calculations... Ie the guy who is hidden isn't as much threat as the guy who is shooting. This is the worst Battlefield campaign yet.

Plus I thought this was ****ing Frostbite 2 and not MW2 engine. You cant seem to destroy anything. You can't even shoot the damned lights out.

I really don't understand the engine either... I thought and SAW things getting destroyed in trailers and stuff yet all I seem to see get destroyed are small planks of wood and stuff.. I haven't explored the engine that much so I won't judge it just yet.

Also in campaign I've just been having to much trouble, its froze my Xbox 4 times, sent me back to the last checkpoint for no reason, forced me to stay in prone, all I can hear are other soldiers talking and my gunshots reflecting off a surface and nothing else, it's just so stupid.

And considering the fact that right now the actually story is just Black Ops in the future.. I'm a bit bummed out.

I really haven't gotten past the 4th level yet, and from what my friends have told me about the next several levels, campaign is scoring a 4/10.. Not too good..

LOL... I think that's where I got stuck too. I'm in some office block and I keep getting killed even if I am behind tons of cover and I can't figure out where I'm getting shot from... It's just about where I get the sniper rifle... I get it and BAM!... dead every time. The bloody AI is aimbotting like crazy.

It seems that it's all going downhill at DICE since Bad Company. That was a real fun campaign. BC2 was a bit lame in comparison but the multiplayer was fun. I've not had chance to play much of BF3 multiplayer yet because of the server issues (normal EA shit... one day they will get their act together and then a comet will impact the planet)..

The one thing I freakin hate about BF3 is they have included WAYYYYYYYY too many scripted events. The jet level was lame beyond compare.

I've also been getting freezes in the campaign like you (usually when a scripted event is running which seems to be every few minutes). I just load the previous checkpoint while cursing.

Yeah the AI in the game is crazy, when I play on easy it definitely feels like I'm playing on normal. What sucks is when the AI is hiding, and you run right past them, just just knife you and your dead.

Speaking of knifing, I am in a love/hate relationship with the multiplayer knifing system. When it works it's a lot of fun but when it doesn't it sucks. It your not close enough it will just slash them, and because the knife reload time is so slow anyone with brain cells can turn around and kill you. And after the flash your knife stays out so it's just stupid. There just shouldn't be any CoD knife slashes in this game.

And yeah the scripted events suck so bad, I mean I just hate when they shoot an RPG at you and if there's a cinematic following it you just fly back unscaved. But if you get hit by an RPG when there's no cinematic to follow, at the same range, you will just die. I was playing co-op with a friend, and after we were clearing out the streets, magically the 2 guys in the .50 cals died so they made us hop onto it. I was getting so pumped for the airplane mission at the start, and by the end I just had my head in my hands. It wasn't hard it was just really really stupid. And I'm shaking my head more at the fact that the story line is just so bad. I know I already mentioned it but the story is a replica of Black Ops, and that story was bad enough to begin with. So I have just stopped playing it and moved onto the MP.

You guys should try Team Deathmatch on Noshar Canals.. It's basically just Deathmatch with a bunch of random spawns around crates. It is very frustrating..

I love the multiplayer but the you are right about the knifing... I was chasing this guy and kept knifing him and it didn't take... took like 6 goes before he fell over heh.

But I just had to pack in when I ended up trying to TK by accident... the guy I was knifing wouldn't die again and then I realised he was my own team but there was no tag over his head... then I found that EVERYONE was missing their tag... then I died and the screen turned blue tinged.

Yup... the glitches are in the multiplayer as well.

Back to the campaign I went and played it through on easy and you are right... it feels like it is on normal. It's also fricking LAME as it has way too many scripted animations and is WAYYYYYYY too linear.

But at least the multiplayer is fun. I had a really cool Engineer vs Engineer duel on one map... guy would wang a missile at me and I would dodge and then send one back... in the end we both ran out and I shot him with my AK at really long range. Was awesome.

Downside was I should have been toast (would have if it had been BC2). He RPG'd the building I was standing on and it hardly dented it. Maybe they toned down the destruction but it's not as much fun.

Oh and I hate that it shows you where your killer was... I hope they have hardcore mode or equivalent. I hate this cheating crap as if I get killed I can watch where the guy is going and head him off when I respawn. Lame.

Ratings wise I would give the BF3 Campaign a 4/10 while the multiplayer I would give a lovely 9.5/10... Haven't had this much fun with multiplayer on day 2 of a launch since, well... forever (and at the weekend too). There is the occasional glitch and weird lag (like when I went to run across this road and half way across I started to glide and went through the wall of the building and out the other side... was freaky) which is why I knocked off the 0.5. Another time a guy I shot in the back managed to shoot me without turning round... that sort of thing. But never as bad as COD (any version).

Finally, I wish I had recorded this one "**** ME" instance I had in multiplayer... I was running after a tank to go heal it when I hear WHOOOSH and an A-10 nose dives right on top of it and bits flew past my face as the tank and part of the building next to it went up too. Didn't half make me jump as the explosion was bloody loud. 

Oh and the guns are freakin spot on. Perfect recoil too. It may seem a lot compared to other games but this makes it so you have to control your firing.

The lag/latency has been awful this afternoon. I jumped over this one barrier, run across the road and dived into cover and next second I get yanked back over the road and then along comes an enemy and shoots me.

Last night the game was fun. Most of today it was awful. One match I got 0 kills because I couldn't detect where the enemy were and then I got SVD rounds in the frickin neck. I even shot this one guy in the back and he didn't die. Emptied a clip... still no kill. Along comes a teammate and he shot him too. The enemy turns around and then kills us both.

Anyways I'll make a decent sized post later since I'm about to go out, but I noticed a trend with Jets. Everyone wants them at first, then realizes they aren't THAT cool so they stop, then when they try again and unlock stuff for them everyone is like yeahhhh. At least that's how I felt lol..

That is I say play the game... but I've not even been doing that as I wait until EA get their act together with the servers. In the meantime I'm doing other stuff more worthy of my time. But I will be back.... ohhhhhh yeah. This game is awesome. Will be even better when MW3 comes out.

I'm still getting MW3 but will probably play more of BF3 than MW3 multiplayer because I get a lot less lag on dedicated servers. Every COD I have played I have said "BULLCRAP... NO WAY I MISSED". Not happened that way with BF after the servers were sorted out. Even on good days the COD servers had at least 2 seconds of prediction to counter lag which is why you get corner lag happening.

Back onto Battlefield 3, I've been playing during peak time tonight and the servers seem pretty good. The occasional hiccup is all but loads better than the launch weekend.

I've even got into Metro and I used to hate that map.

Dice did get one thing mega wrong though. Those darn flashlights and lasers blinding you... Outside in the middle of the day they should do absolute zip but they still blind you for some reason.

If the torches blinded you only in dark areas it would be perfect...

Other than that I have had absolutely zero rubberbanding all night. Even though I suck at the game I've had a thoroughly great set of games tonight. EA really sorted the servers quickly compared to previous launches.

There was some gits playing tonight... To busy peeing around with the the aircraft, crashing them and waiting to respawn and fighting over them.... and letting the side down big time. Other teams I was one played like veteran Battlefielders though.

But one thing is missing... the audio comms doesn't seem to work.

The jets don't seem  to do anything but dogfight..unless you have a really skilled dude who knows how to shoot at the ground with precision accuracy (very hard to come by).

You need to unlock Rocket Pods or Guided missiles to be able to take on ground targets, I've taken out a couple of tanks with jets, but the rocket pods do not do enough damage to actually destroy one outright, just disable, you need guided missiles which i've yet to unlock. Though I did manage to get a large salvo on a rear of a tank earlier this afternoon and take it out. I also use it at start of the game to really scare people, and disable some of their armour.

I did a Son Tay the other day with a helo. Well defended position and I was driving a helo full of soldiers... Came in low and crashed it on the roof of the target.

We all piled out and started committing mayhem. Just then a couple of the enemy got in the helo and tried to take us out with it... Pity that its ass was covered with C4 from a teammate heh..... BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Best assault EVER!
